I'm not sure he's panning out yet but he's playing in a better league this year. I'm still not high on this guy but atleast he's producing this year.

I don't think that points say the whole story. Even though he is playing at over a point per game pace, it is due to the fact that Vince Bellissimo (FLA) and Brent Walton are on fire. IMO Mike Erickson is just reaping the benifits of playing on the top line. To give him credit where credit is due, he IS playing on the top line. I think he has made some good offensive plays, and he is willing to take a beating in front of the net (which is usually where he is planted) but right now he just seems to be going through the motions if that makes sense.

Hard nosed winger. Good skater for his size, likes to play physical. Must improve strength.
Going off the HF scouting report, I disagree with part of the talent analysis. IMO the biggest knock on Erickson is that he is painfully slow on his feet. So far this year I have yet to see him play a consistent physical game, and at times he just seems uninterested in laying the body. I do however think his strength has improved, as he is extremely hard to move in front of the net. He has a great set of hands and a good offense sense around the net.

I'll keep you guys posted on Erickson throughout the year .

MN_Gopher: His njury? I know he left U of MN because of lack of playing time. Can you elaborate on what happened there? Thanks.

Foot, I think. Could be wrong, though.

I wonder if he re-injured his foot/leg? I know he sat out last night's game because of a "lower body" injury. I was talking with the team manager and he said he got injured during Friday's game. No word on how series the injury was. I saw Erickson in the stands and he seemed ok, maybe it was just some sort of minor injury.

HE got hurt in his frersh men year. Later he came back 100% physically but was not at 100% mentally. Looked to cautious out there. Played to not get hurt. Went to USHL to wok it out, Was re-offered a scholoarship at the U but asked for a realease. Just never got back on track mentally after he was physically cleared. Good to hear is playing in front of the net again. A tenuos power forward doesn't get much playing time. He needed a change.
