As a Leafs fan, it was fun watching JR and Tucker go at it. Fun playoff times...if only we won lol.

i would love to see him doing some sort of commentary...preferably on US stations so I can see him more.

Would he actually making watching VS bearable?

:/ I didn't think so. But hey, I'd still like to see him somewhere. He would be a riot to watch.

Awesome what he said about Philly fans at his press conference. We get a bad rap a lot and he pointed out what we really mean.

Sad to see him go. Wish he would have signed back with us for fourth line duties.

I just recently moved to fresno, ca which is very close to san jose so it's all over the news. I'm watching the press conference right now and tearing up like a baby. I'm gonna miss JR, he had so much passion for this game.

A memorable quote from J.R. after a game in Buffalo in January 2004 -- the game he tossed a water bottle:

"NHL, wake up! Blaine Angus is standing right in front of me and he says he doesn't see it. What is he looking at? The National Hockey League has to step in and tell these guys to open up their eyes. Let's be honest, there are referees out there who hate the Flyers. Hate the way we play, hate the way we b***h, hate the way we moan and complain, so they purposely call the games against us. That is not right. So how do you expect us to react when we see blatant favoritism against us?"

After the high-stick to his mouth

I'm really going to miss Roenick as well. He was one of my favorate players from his Chicago days, and the day the Flyers signed him was one of the happiest moments I've experenced as a fan.

I beleive him, Mark Recchi, and Forsberg (though it ment losing Roenick), are the only players that I've actually jumped around all excited after finding out about the acquisition.

TSN has their top 10 JR moments - it was great to see some of those again!

For anybody who hasn't seen it, JR was on Off The Record on Thursday and did Up Front and Next Question.

Best part of next question:
Landsberg: "Yes or no. Not looking for names. Did one of your teammates ever sleep with another teammates wife?"
Roenick: "Absolutely!"

Also, Former Sens Backup Mike Morrisson was on OTR and had some stories about JR and Ray Emery.

Me too, I even remember what I was doing when I heard. My younger brother (also a Flyers fan) and I were building a house with our dad, and heard it on sports radio during break or lunch. When the announcement came we both jumped up and shouted and stuff, damn I was stoked. I love moments like that.

Man I hope Snider can convince JR to come work for the Flyers if Roenick doesnt get a national tv deal instead.

Who is he referring?

I wonder if the Lindros/Brindy thing is true. Kinda sad really.

What the hell? He started his own insurance company? How the hell does one do that? An agency or broker, yes, no problem. I don't know the laws in the US, but in Canada, you can't call yourself a life company. And you can't promote life insurance products without a licence.

But I guarantee I'll be watching for industry functions!

Well, considering he is American, I don't think Canadian laws apply. However, he's owned the website since 2008, so this is a plan he had in motion for a while, and might be why he waited so long to come back last season.

It's a LLC operation, and I'm sure he has many people working for him -- actually doing the work as he adds the name and the charm -- I'm sure he has licenced insurance people heading the operations... I would assume that he is a brokerage who middlemans the policies between his clients and multiple Insurance Companies... I'd bet that it has been in operation for some time now; he now has time to schmooze the big clients.
