Rangers Prospect #25

Chad Johnson picked up spot #24, thus becoming our top goalie prospect. Hopefully he can do well in the AHL this year. He's the only one of our goalie prospects who has even the slightest chance at being an NHL starter. Roman Horak made it onto the list. (Does anyone know anything about him to put a 5th round pick on our list? I mean, he was just drafted in a later round.) I wonder why there's no love for Max Campbell.

TOP PROSPECTS

1. Artem Anisimov
2. Evgeny Grachev
3. Michael Del Zotto
4. Bobby Sanguinetti
5. Ryan McDonagh
6. Derek Stepan
7. Matt Gilroy
8. Chris Kreider
9. Michael Sauer
10. Ethan Werek

SECOND-TIER PROSPECTS

11. Tomas Kundratek
12. Dane Byers
13. Ryan Bourque
14. Brian Boyle
15. Corey Potter
16. Nigel Williams
17. Ilkka Heikkinen
18. David Kveton
19. Pavel Valentenko
20. Brodie Dupont
21. Carl Hagelin
22. Chris Doyle
23. Dale Weise
24. Chad Johnson

Awards:
Zaborsky. I'd stop adding players and just go with what we have, stopping at 30. Your call though...

It's an University of Nebraska/Omaha shirt -- must be a promotion of some kind.

They don't necessarily go in the same order as they are added so I think people should continue to add.

We'll call the last 5 leftovers honorable mentions.

Not a bad idea, but at some point, they are just all the same - long shots with different skills, but same talent level. I think 30 prospects plus 5 honorable mentions (the leftovers from the last round of voting) should be enough.

If you can't make our top 35, it's highly unlikely you'll ever play in the NHL.

On August 18, we'll have out top 30 plus 5 honorable mentions.

Went Zaba, really think Soryal and Dowzak should be above Zaborsky and Gaulton.

Going with Owens. His pretty good junior years are translating in the pros.

Add Dowzak (then Campbell, as Dowzak is further along)

GAULTON.....ADD IVAN BARANKA...he is still considered a prospect and even though he left North America for the KHL DOES NOT mean he wont ever come back...if he does come back he would definetly be one of our top prospects...

Gaulton... add me some Campbell soup. why doesn't anybody like him? He was a top 20 prospect for us last year according to Leslie at #16.

obviously baranka is playing in the KHL, but this is also his last year on his contract, i dont get why he isnt on the list already as he still is young and has a chance to come back over to play for us.

He might be like Dube. I think Dube could've returned in his mid-20s, and definitely after the lockout when the style changed. I really think that in the 3-5of years after the lockout, he could've easily been a second liner. Even right now at 32, he still probably could play in the NHL, but he's happy in Switzerland.

Baranka might be happy in Russia. If he comes back and plays well in Hartford next year, then I'm sure he'll be in our top dozen.

i just find it funny how right before he signed to play in the KHL Baranka was regarded as one of the top defensive prospects on the team. he goes signs with the KHL and all of a sudden hes one of our worst prospects? if he comes back next year i would expect him to definetly challenge for a spot on the big club, and probably make it. Baranka was playing on his teams top defensive pairing in one of his recent games. hes still young. i honestly think he should be in the lower part of our top 10 maybe at least the top 15. but i guess no one else thinks that way because hes over in that evil league called the KHL...

I'll bite....add Baranka.

Really I think Baranka has about the same chance as playing in the NHL as Valentenko or Kveton so with that I guess he should be in the top 20.
