Thanks for the link. Yes I think Timmins got a good one, I know he was really high on Kristo going into the draft. Should be fun watching him at North Dakota, who should have a good team again this year.

Kristo and Stephen were born on the same day in the same city. If only I was American and a year younger, I could then complete the 18th of June trinity line.

Is he bigger than when we drafted him? Maybe a late spurt will give him the complete package.

I liked the pick at that time, liked what he brought in the Omaha games I watched and I like the pick even better now.

Didn't know he was a solid character guy. Definately a great late 2nd rounder.

NHL.com has him at: 5'11'' 172

USAHockey has him now at: 6'0'' 184

I think he's at 6'0 now. If he hits 6'1 ish, he will be a great asset with his speed and sniping abilities.

love that quote (didnt know he had this in him)

Quote:
"I think he is a leader, real good in the dressing room," Blais said. "We're not trying to get a captain out of this thing, we have enough time before all that unfolds, but I think he's got those leadership abilities."

Montreal (Dan) ,im wondering if you know what type of role kristo will have at north dakota?

I was thinking more in terms of weight. Whether someone is 5'11 or 6'1 wont change a whole lot unless the weigh goes up.

Think David Ficher. Tall yet skin and bones( I heard that changing too). If Kristo can reach 210, much like Pacs will and like AK is, we will have great power on our wings.

Well, the line is playing well together. 7 points in 2 games!!! Except 5 of those 7 points are from Kristo, so **** the other guys.

I made fun of him earlier, but I still say Stefanovich is better.

I like this one even better!

Quote:
"When you get drafted it's a dream come true, but what people need to realize is it doesn't mean anything," Kristo said. "It's what you do with it. You go to camp and there are so many guys there that are just as good as you. You're battling these guys and you have to realize how hard you have to work to make it to where you want to make it to."
He has the attitude to make it at the NHL level! I'm not sure what his upside really is, but with his blazing speed, he can be valuable in some way for sure.

Reading about him makes me think he's some kind of Phil Kessel light. Super fast and great sniper.

I said top end guys. Subban hasn't even played a game in the NHL yet. Weber has shown potential yes.

Pacioretty I agree with in the future.

But I see no top end guys yet. Maybe the O.P should say potential future top end guys.

thanks for the read!

I wasn't too high on Kristo, but now that I see he has 11 pts in 5 games in the usa camp, he seems to be much stronger then before

he is a steal for a second rounder!

Avtsin and Trunev are top end guys now? They have potential though there is no doubt.

sigh. If that's what you call top end I rest my case.

I guess I have a different definition of what top end guys are.

44 points and 16 goals as a 20-year old AHL rookie is extremely impressive. Not to mention the All-Star title.

That guy is going to be a stud. Maybe not a top 3 type of guy, but a solid top 4 offensive defenseman with PPQB ability is what I'd call a top end prospect.
