Versus will schedule us for one game (maybe two because we made the playoffs), then bump us for the battle for last place in the NHL or an extra Pittsburgh or Minnesota game.

NBC will put us on the flex schedule, then yank the game.
Of the games not televised, none of them are on Sunday so the Jackets won't be on NBC at all this season.

I would think that the December 28 game against Detroit probably will be on Versus (as could be the case for the Oilers game as well) so that's why FS Ohio isn't showing it.

Well sucks for me :/
Anyway, I'll be moving up to Columbus soon. Any suggestions for places to go for those under 21?

82, presumably, as the new cable home of the CBJ would optimally broadcast them all in spectacular high definition and free from the ear numbing Jeff Rimer.

Ahh to live in a perfect world

Versus only televises Eastern Conference games. The only time a Western Conference team gets on versus is when Detroit plays an Eastern Conference team.

NOW I get it. Being slow today.
I thought you were saying you were going to ditch FSN, which, to me, didn't seem like the wisest way to see more games. I follow you now.

O'Shaughnessey's right next to the Arena. They finally entered the 2000's and got hi-def tv's a few months ago. It's a pub but you can be under 21.

Are the HD games shown on a different FSN station? I cancel my cable during the off-season, and I just got a HD TV, so I'm looking at then. So since we're talking about FSN, I thought I'd bring this up here. What's going on with FSN HD? If a hockey game is shown in HD, if you watch it on just FSN will it not be in HD?

You will need an hd cable box and be on an upper tier package, or hd package from the cable co, or satellite co. Supposably you can watch over the air (local channels) in hd without cable.

Nothing about following the Jackets in Columbus ticks me off anymore, after spending four years in Dayton. When a Jackets game gets bumped for a regular season high school football game, or an episode of Reds Replay in December (both of which I have - no joke - experienced), it becomes a lot clearer why the franchise is consistently losing money.

Yes, their tv contract is one of the worst in the league...courtesy of that idiot Maclean.

Care to back that up with any facts? I'm intrigued...

As for the Jackets troubles in getting games televised elsewhere in Ohio, this is a problem all over the US. Move to Columbus or get Center Ice.

If we buy Center ice we can see games from 29 teams. Guess who we can't see because they are blacked out and we're stuck watching Josh's Cribbs instead of hockey.

THIS is the problem.

And I'm sure it's bad for Cavs fans living in Columbus.

Actually, no.

In the Time Warner Cable Mid-Ohio markets, the Cavs are put on an alternate channel (usually the Customer Service channel, Ch. 24) while the CBJ is on the regular FSOhio channel on 33. There are also two FSOhio HD channels should both the Cavs and CBJ be in HD.

For the old Adelphia Cable areas now owned by Time Warner, they actually have two FSOhio channels to take care of conflicts.

Yeah except the game is still blacked out because you are in Fox Sports Ohio's coverage area, even though your local feed isn't carrying the game. This is even true for Center Ice ONLINE if you are in Ohio... Literally you could be in Singapore, Iraq, or the ****ing International Space Station and watch the Jackets, but not if you are in the wrong part of Ohio.

It's ****ing bananas.

Wasn't an issue for me. Watched non FSOhio televised games on both internet and satellite.

They've (smartly) eased up on this.

Edit: I don't know if this is how it works in Cincy/Lebronland/Dayton but this is at least true in Columbus.

Totally different situation. When the game isn't shown on FSNOhio, they lift the blackout so people with Center Ice (all over Ohio) can watch the other team's feed... When the game IS shown on FSNOhio (but everywhere except the Columbus area has it pre-empted for something else), the blackout still stands because you are in Ohio, and you have FSN Ohio coverage, even though they are showing something else from an alternate FSN Ohio feed. So you can't watch the game.
