Its Been A Long Year

I was just browsing the content on Rangers On Demand and I was reminded of something that was taking place roughly a year ago that I can't believe escaped my mind.

Petr Nedved was participating in our camp and was playing pretty damn well in preseason games. I cant believe I forgot about this cause I actually wanted him to make the team as a fourth liner. I have a pretty good memory when it comes to my sports teams but this totally escaped my mind. When I saw the interviews up with Nedved it gave me a good chuckle. Just thought I'd share for those of you who forgot about this as well.

I was just thinking about this a few days ago... I completely forgot until then though.

Didn't he score 2 goals in a preseason game?

That was odd. I got the feeling it was a favor to Petr that helped the Rangers by having some veteran competition in camp, but there was really never a chance he was going to be signed.

I know what you mean about it being a long year. For some reason, Fritsche's name came to me recently. Ultimately forgettable, but his name didn't even come up during the whole "asset management" debate surrounding Zherdev. Seems like ages ago he scored the goal in Prague and I thought he was going to be a nice addition to the team.

I hope Fleury is the Nedved of this year, but signed.

I thought we should've signed Nedved as a 4th liner last year.

Nedved deserved a shot. I went to a couple preseason games last year n seen the game he scored 2goals. He had a nice set of wheels on him n I thought hed contribute more to the team then nazzy that year. But management really didn't give him a shot

No way. Those would have probably been the only two goals he scored until Christmas. The guy was done the way Esa was done after a glorious training camp.

Nedved would have been a great addition. I wonder why they didn't sign him. Too old or did he ask for too much money?

if i remember he was asking for like 1 mill or something, not a lot at all.

I think it was the whole "Go with the New Kids" thing...

Back then I agreed that it would have been a great addition.

I'd prefer signing Purinton to Fleury. Actually, it's probably a toss-up.

I'd haveta disagree. I feel like he would of came back with something to prove. When I seen those games he stood out more then any player out there
