Stand Pat

In JG's second straight article DP has said that he will go into camp and the season with what they currently have. Assuming that Guite, Goc, Wilson and Franson are winners of open spots we will be sitting just below 44M. Is this the jump that this team needs?

You are leaving out O'Reilly, which would bump out Wilson. Additionally, today's paper quoted Poile as saying we would go into camp with the defensemen we currently have in the organization and if needed, will bring in a vet during camp should the need arise.

There are plenty of free agent defensemen still available...

The only issue with Poile adding another player after camp is he said the same thing last year and years big add was Belak. Outstanding person and fighter but far scoring winger which was the need all year. He says that to protect his butt and keep the media off his back and buys time until a trade deadline that passes without a drop. Will it be the same thing again? guess it depends on if these young guys step up to the plate

Haha, just one more top 6 forward. That's all we ask for.

I guess I am hoping that one of these days I am wrong and we can put a team on the ice that can legit compete for a CUP instead of 8th. With one legit top 6 and a veteran D that can happen
