The Sharks have probably the best or second best top 6 in the league as is, why on earth would they want Heatley anyway?

Marleau, Thorton, Setoguchi, Clowe, Pavelski, Michalek, Cheechoo.
They don't even have the best top 6 in their division.

If that's the case, I'd feel a lot better.

Judging by the fact that he was the core of lots of jokes on the Nucks boards though, somehow I fear this is ever so slightly optimistic...

Not even close, sorry. Cogliano has wheels to spare, while White is an okay skater at best.

edit: In Cog's second year of college hockey, he put up 50 points in 38 games. In his sophomore year, White put up 16 in 36. Not comparable at all.

Honestly, I'd rather DW make a big move for a defenseman at this point. That's a weak D.

I'm going downstairs for a looooong drink. When I get back, you'd better have sorted this mess out Wilson or I will be extremely cross...

Rahimi is a tough 22 y/o Swedish defender. Was reasonably well thought-of two years ago but has done nothing in two seasons in the AHL. No skill level whatsoever and is a total pylon. Was a healthy scratch for the entire AHL playoffs and is a guy who was unlikely to get a QO at the end of this season from Vancouver. About as marginal a prospect as you can get. Was considered a borderline top-20 prospect for the club at this point.

White was a terrible #1 pick, but isn't a lost cause and isn't as bad as some people make him out to be. If he was taken in the 4th-5th round where he should have been (over-rated after a good HS career) he'd be an OK mid-level prospect. Has good size and a good shot, but is an average skater with average hockey sense and has struggled badly in his first two years at Minnesota. Hard worker and a nice kid, hopefully he turns his career around. Was somewhere in the 10-12 range on our prospect chart right now.

Frankly I'm shocked that we got anything for these players, much less a young-ish NHL top-4 defender like Ehrhoff, mistake-prone or not. Even if you guys are clearing cap space for Heatley or whatever, surely you could have picked up something better than this package. Strange.

what the **** DW. Two no-name players who I could ****ing play better than for 2 NHL-proven players salary dump or not? Ehrhoff could've fetched so much more than that. **** you DW, time to start the "FIRE DOUG WILSON" campaign.

This is what I think is going to happen, thought it doesn't make all that much sense. One of our top 6 will be heading the other way to pick up a top 4 defenseman, and Cheechoo will take their place on one of the top 2 lines

They were ranked:
16. Daniel Rahimi, D
17. Pat White, C

Sorry guys... but White may still become a 3rd liner. He will be asked upon to take leadership and play a more offensive role next season in college.

This firmly cements this offseason as the worst in Sharks history thus far.
