Just watched Schnieders highlights from last season, man can he ever shoot the puck.
Agree! And so many times last season, i was screaming in my head for Bieksa or Edler to pinch and they would just retreat! Sigh... i watched those highlights and just loved how he would jump into the play.
Even though i watched only these highlights... looks like he has a very accurate shot and quick release. Makes Mitchell's wind up take like 1 minute. I can definitely see him getting some beauties in from the point.

You haven't seen him play over the last 2 decades?
Schneider will have Canuck fans saying ''oh so that's what a PP QB does''.
You mean the Norris trophy as in the best defenseman in the league? That's a 100k that I REALLY hope he manages to reach, although I think everyone knows the chances of it happening...
"So we are here with 2010 Norris Trophy winner Mathieu Schneider. Mathieu, what do you think prompted your best season ever and a Norris Trophy win at age 40?"
Schneider: "Well, I just really wanted that hundred thousand dollar bonus"

This...Is...Sports Center!
*catchy music*
Our top story tonight. Nik Lidstrom, Zdeno Chara, Mike Green, Scott Niedermayer, Chris Pronger, Andrei Markov, Dan Boyle, Brian Rafalski, Mark Streit, Shea Weber, Drew Doughty, Sheldon Souray, Dion Phaneuf, Duncan Keith, and Jay Bouwmeester each suffered seperate freak season ending injuries during this the first day of the preseason.
I like how its 1 mil for games played, but 100,000 for a Norris. That's messed up incentives.
I think it's more of Schneider having better odds of acheiving the games played bonus then the getting the Norris. You would think getting the Norris should get you a bigger bonus then playing a certain number of games but if your Schneider, you know you won't win the Norris so you ask for a bigger bonus based on games played. I'm sure Gillis would prefer 1 mil for Norris and 100,000 for games played.

I bet, unless he's playing absolutely lights out, that you'll see him scratched enough that he doesn't get those bonuses. Just like they did with Linden in his final year.

If Schneider is healthy, he will play. He is going to be the integral part of our powerplay. More wins/goals is worth a million bucks against the cap any day.
