Having Jags come to NY and mentoring Anisimov, a player of his build, would be amazing.

Can't wait till this time next year when Jagr is actually out of contract (still has 1 year to go). Look I loved the guy when he played for us but bringing him in now or in nearer future is a step backwards and a sign of desperation. No thanks.

To be honest other than height they really aren't similar at all. Anisimov actually knows what his own zone looks like.

This ain't happening, for several reasons.

1. Jagr is a typical east-west player. Torts wants a north-south game.
2. Almost no one is left from the teams where Jagr played, not even the coach, so it isn't like he would feel nostalgic, especially not like he was treated when he left.
3. Jagr would want the dough. I'm not sure we could give him that. If we couldn't when he left, why could we now or later?

Jagr'll probably end up with Renney in Edmonton or something like that.

Sure, he might accept a smaller payday due to his age and and probable diminished role on a NHL team. But it's not like he's going to accept $2 mil or something like that. Probably $5 mil/ year to cover his living expenses. Like the "cheap" Brendan Shanahan that was said to take a paycut his second year here, which in reality meant he was $1m more expensive expensiver.

Side note: Why isn't there a word like "expensiver" in english? More expensive is a drag to write. ... That's it, I'm using it.

if we bring back Jagr, why not bringing back Messier, Leetch or Matteau? They were great players, too, when they wore Rangers Blue

You know if people tell that to messier over and over i bet it will get stuck in his head and he'll remember he needs 6 goals to hit the 700 goal club(or is it 600) that'd be freakish

I guess it's 700 but I think it's not happening unless he becomes GM...

Ok here's the plan boys , lundqvist is scratched, i'll be playing goalie ,we're gonna set up the flying V and you feed met the puck at center ice.While the crowd and refs stare at me waiting for me to cross center ice,brashear will go elbow the goalie so i can get a freebie 7 times and be that much better than gordie howe!

probably not gonna happen. He was only here for a little over 3 seasons, there would be many other players that were here a lot longer that would need to have one first.

Post it a few more times though, it's not annoying at all. It also makes you seem really cool and mature. More caps might help too.

Bring back Jagr and add Palffy lol

Nah this is speculation, not gonna happen. Fun to think about Jags on the second line behind Gaborik though

Jagr showed his age last year in the KHL. He was a non-factor in the playoffs for Avangard, even though they were a heartbreaking 15 seconds( as a last seed ) from knocking off the #1 seed and eventual champion in a deciding game in round 1.

Oh I don't know...

Single Season NYR Records

* Goals: Jaromir Jagr (2005–06) — 54

* Assists: Brian Leetch (1991–92) — 80
* Points by a defenseman: Brian Leetch (1991–92) — 10
* Points by a rookie: Mark Pavelich (1981–82) — 76
* Goals by a rookie: Tony Granato (1988–89) — 36
* Power play goals: Jaromir Jagr (2005–06) — 24
* Game-winning goals: Jaromir Jagr (2005–06), Mark Messier (1996–97) and Don Murdoch (1980–81) — 9
* Shots on goal: Jaromir Jagr (2005–06) — 368

* Goaltending wins: Mike Richter (1993–94) — 42

On top of bringing our team back to respectability after the lock out while carrying the team on his back to the playoffs every year he was here... nothing really though.

As much as I liked Jagr, let's be honest, 2005-06 was one of the biggest statistical anomalies in NHL history.

And? Our team has been around for over 80 years, through league-wide periods of high scoring offense, and yet Jagr's season stands in our record books. It may have been a statistical anomaly, but it's not as if the offense produced that season was greater than, say, the late 80s, when teams scored like 7 goals per game.
