The goals have started going in for me now, as well as piling up the assists (I'm probably working about a 5:1 assist:goal ratio). Little tip: aim for the corners, even if you have to go near post. If you don't aim the shot, the goalie will just swallow it up in his chest. If you go for the corners, you risk missing the net, but it's much easier to beat the goalie.

I had a BAP that used the actual draft order for the 2009 draft. Not sure if that was intentional or simply a random generation of teams in the correct draft order, but I got drafted by the Islanders first overall. Suck it, Tavares!

How do you do the hard clear or dump around? Trying a simple slapper doesn't seem to do it

Did anyone hear that you get Patrick Kane's Equipment if you pre-order at some place?

I was terrified of the camo gear, so I caved and went along with this. I was meaning to do it anyway.

For those that have played the demo on hardcore:

Do you notice a big difference in the passing skills between players like Datsyuk and Eager? I felt like pretty much any player could make long, tape-to-tape bombs and beautiful touch passes at will in NHL 09.

Yeah I said debit card haha. Either way, I don't think I am going to preorder it unless it seems like everyone in my area is going to get it. Most people in my town don't even know what the NHL is.

In hardcore there is a bit of a difference, but really hardcore is all about you. On normal (the online setting) better players make harder more accurate passes

How did you play with Eager?

I just used Eager as an example.

Indeed, that's what I gathered. However once I get good at hardcore mode passing I would still like there to be a difference between the good and bad passers. This distinction was lacking in NHL 09. It was especially prevalent with defensemen.

The passing animation is kinda annoying to watch. I don't think everyone in the NHL passes like that.
