If nothing else it gives a few guys a chance to play with the big team. Speedy recovery Adam.

I'm assuming there must be some reason he waited until now to have the surgery?

It's not like missing Mair for a couple weeks will have much of an impact on the team, but still.

I guess this means Ellis has a good chance of being the starting center on the 4th line, depending on how camp goes.

Paille-Ellis-Kaleta? I'll take it.

Maybe this is why we signed so many extra third/fourth liners?

He's played it before, but he is awful at faceoffs. I'd much rather have Ellis at center or even experiment with Paille at center before putting McCormick there. I know others have said it, but I think Paille could be very effective as a center.

Good point.

Perhaps Mair's situation wasn't too clear a few weeks back as to if he would require surgery or not. I guess Darcy signed a guy like Cowen as insurance.

The McCormick signing makes a lot more sense now, as we'll need him to be the 13th forward for a few weeks here. Cowan was destined for Portland unless a lot of injuries struck, so I think the McCormick pickup was because of Mair's injury.

I like Ellis as a 4th line center.

i'm more than fine with giving Matt Ellis more minutes...could this open a small window for Kennedy?

I'm done giving Paille chances.

I want to see McCormick-Ellis-Kaleta start as the 4th line
