Which side are you on? I'd prefer Ovy and Kesler, obviously.

So you are giving up the best player as well as taking on 5 million dollars in salary?
Keep Ovechkin

If you ever want to trade Ovechkin then this is your deal. But I wouldn't think about trading Ovy. So in this case I would keep ovechkin and Kesler.

If Ovechkin only put up under 110 pts next year it s abig lost cause I don t see kesler passing 65pts. So max of 180 and a low of 140pts

Nash= 80 to 100 pts- 50 + goals this is the year but big contract
Vanek= 70 to 90, but yet again a huge contract
_ 1st 2010

it might be the right price if your looking to improve your goal situation but think again Ovy is the master and the guy to beat. So againg what s the point of trading Ovy.

Keep Ovechkin.

Is this Dynasty? What type of value is the 1st Rounder?

The team that wins the trade is the team that ends up with the best player and that is a easy one. You can't replace 100 plus point player.

It's a pretty close trade. YES Ovie is an absolute franchise player but so is Nash. It's whether you think Vanek + 1st rounder are better the Ryan Kesler. If you want to logjam your salary to Nash and Vanek go for it. The only way I'd go for it is if the 1st is a super high 1st (top 3 pick) and you have the chance to trade up and get a franchise player. With Vanek +1st you could do it.........My final answer: Go for it!!!

So since they are both franchise players in the NHL that makes Nash and Ovechkin equal?

I wouldn't even consider trading Ovechkin unless one of Getzlaf,Datsyuk,Backstrom,Green,Crosby or Malkin was included in the return

NO, Nash and Ovechkin aren't equal but they are both franchise players. The way I saw it you could take Nash and trade away Vanek with the 1st rounder and possibly get a higher draft pick (unless the 1st round pick is a top 5 pick) You could also trade Vanek for a 1st rounder as well. That's a great way to make the trade work. Nash and 2 top 10 1st round picks would be a great upside to trading away Ovechkin and Kesler. In the ideal world getting a guy like Malkin or Getz would be great but why not get a couple great young prospects and a franchise player for another franchise player? That is a good thing, right?
