Sundin to Kings-(e4)

Sundin to LA (e4)>>

Again, understand the E-system. e4 doesn't always mean a rumor is more likely to happen, it just means it is coming from 2 or more people close to the situation. So what I would say about this is there is a VERY good chance that Sundin and LA are trying to get a deal done. Will it happen? No one knows yet. You can also add Philly and Dallas to the Mats race.

I really hope this is one of the rumors Eklund finally gets right.

Sundin will give us a sick top 9

I don't think he will go to the Kings. They're not going to win the Stanley Cup next year, and he wants to be on a contender. Unless none of them want him.

LOL...Dallas is not going to waste their money and effort on a 38 yr old over the hill player. We already have one and his name is Modano.

Considering Sundin is on his honeymoon, I doubt he's negotiating with the Kings.

Besides, I'd guess if he does come back, it will probably be to Vancouver (Gillis has said they will make room for him if necessary) as he liked his time there, knows the players and knows the system.

I really don't see this happening. Sundin has stated that he wants to win a cup and i really don't think LA is even close to that. That was not meant to be an insult at all.

Sundin is more likely to re-sign with the Canucks at the minmum salary then take more and sign with LA. Makes very little sense for him to sign with LA, but then again, it's Eklund reporting it.

Wouldn't be surprised if this is the case. Gillis has stated recently that they have the cap space to bring Sundin back, so who knows. Sundin got a big pay day last season, maybe this year he's willing to come back at a low salary to prove he's not all about the money and wants to win the cup?

Over the past few days, Eklund has listed Dallas, Edmonton, Los Angeles, Ottawa and Philadelphia as Sundin possibilities yet omits Vancouver, the team that has publicly expressed interest on several occasions.

Well he has to list all 30 teams so when Sundin signs he can take credit for it....It's Eklund 101 (How he is still a source here on HF is crazy....come to think of it i know why he is)

I guess he could go to LA, but like everyone said, not to be insulting, but they wouldn't be a first choice if you wanted to win a cup. You would think that would be his main drive at this point. Unless his fiance really had her heart set on a new house.

Not that Vancouver is a slam dunk chance to win a cup, but you would think based on familiarity alone, as well as an on paper strong team, Sundin might take less to come back to Vancouver.

But like one poster said, we'll see in January.

Sundin should come back in January and sign with the Leafs, retire with the team you were supposed to retire with. Make peace with the fans who are still heartbroken.

Though I have a feeling he will retire..

LA has cap space. If (and if is huge here) he is talking to the Kings it is more likely as leverage to get more money from somebody else. "Hey the Kings can offer X dollars, but I will play for you for slightly less"
