Sundin already said that if he returns, it will only be with the Canucks

I'm to lazy to look this up but did kings fans talk about this prior to Ek or was it actually Ek inspired?

Mike Gillis has been in touch with Sundin and his agents according to an interview he gave the other day after the trade with the Sharks on the Bill Watters show.

Gillis said at the time that Sundin would make a decision on whether to retire or return to the NHL in about 10 days after his wedding and then Sundin will start fielding offers.

Ek inspired......lol

Only thing the Kings have discussed or said was that we are looking to acquire a 2nd line center

Top 9 is deep as hell. That 3rd line is mighty impressive. Can't wait to see the younger guys mature and see the Kings become highly competitive.

Probably not a shoe-in, but definitely a team that wouldn't be a surprise if they made it with that lineup. The problem is that they definitely wouldn't be considered a Stanley Cup contender and that's what Sundin has stated he wants.

Sundin said so many things last year that turned out to be lies. I will believe it when I see the press conference in Vancouver or Los Angeles.

I love their offence, even without Sundin, but the defence and goaltending looks average. I see them as one of many teams in the west that can squeak into the 6th-8th spot. It will be a very tight playoff race.

As for Sundin, the only team I can see him signing with next season is the Canucks. He knows the system, the players, and Gillis has said that he'll make room for Sundin if he wants to play another year. How Gillis would make room is a mystery, but he seems to have a lot of tricks up his sleeve.

He wouldn't be marrying an actress by any chance would he? Our only shot -- kinda like some other guy that played here a while back.

I mean this pretty much assures he's not going there now, but I'd like to see what he could do with LA's crop of forwards. They would make it back to the playoffs provided he played the majority of the season, IMO.

Her name is Josephine Johansson and she is from a small town in northern Sweden - IIRC she was a teacher. Here is the story of the wedding and some photos:

How awesome would it be for Sundin to win his first Cup on a franchise that has never won? It's meant to be!

I don't think the sharks have enough space, but if they can free some up, you're right, that'd make perfect sense!

I guess I'm the only one that finds it funny and somewhat pathetic that the OP is taking this rumour and the E4 rating seriously, as if it has any merit or... truth behind it.

Funny you should say that because the D and goaltending is actually significantly improved from last year's and we were in the top half of the league in terms of goals against. It may not look impressive at first glance, but along with Murray's system, it just works.

Agreed! Which is why it will be such a heart felt story when he wins the cup with the Canucks.

Sundin to LA (e4)>>

Again, understand the E-system. e4 doesn't always mean a rumor is more likely to happen, it just means it is coming from 2 or more people close to the situation.

Sundin has to be kicking himself for not taking that 20 million from Vancouver.
