One group that is bidding on the Yotes, has booked 5 dates at the Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon, with the Habs being the first game on Nov 12th.
I haven't been following this situation all that much so I will assume it's unlikely to happen as the league would have to approve this first and who knows how this thing will play out. But I'm bored as hell at work so I thought I'd post it.
At the bottom of the article it says that Halifax was another city that the group looked at booking some games with.
I'd be surprised if it happened. Would be interesting for the locals to get to see meaningful NHL hockey, not just some exhibition came. How big is the arena? They said they wanted to play these 5 games to add to revenue but I am wondering how that would work as I have a feeling this is not a huge NHL size place.
Why the hell should we help keep a dying franchise a float anymore than we already are!? Yes, lets help them make more money so they can keep that team in Phoenix longer, 'cause we know there isn't a chance in hell a team comes to Sask....
last i heard the credit union center can hold at least 11,000 and i think they put more seating in this year... how dose that compare to the arena in phoenix, or more importantly, there regular attendance, cause you know it will sell out here.
