I think this is fantastic news. I'm a Schremp fan, so I'd love to see what he brings in camp. I wish him all the best, whether it's here in Edmonton or on another team...I'd prefer to see him in Edmonton.

I'm hoping to see him on the 2nd line and on the 2nd PP.

That would be awesome to say the least. BTW-I just wrote my opinion of this signing and it's ramifications on my Blog, voted the 4th best Oilers Blog by 1 HF board poster I might add!

You're right, fighting epitomizes hockey skill. Don't get me wrong, I love fighting in a game. But guys like MacIntyre can't do anything but fight.

Schremp being in the top 6 means he is better than most Oilers forwards right? I'd put him in there instead of Nilson, thus making my statement objectively explainably true.

I really hope that isn't Schremp. Serious, tell me it's not. What a loser if it is.

LMAO, thats hilarious. I was quite sure everyone was subject to waivers over the certain age, but after seeing it on NHL 09 I just assumed I was incorrect and any 2 way deal meant up and down from rosters at will. I occasionally thought to myself, "why don't the Oil just sign X player to a 2 way deal."

Part of being in the video game era I suppose.

Oh it is... Just be thankful I didn't go with "Who's got a Stars and Stripes Banana Hammock and a new contract?"... If you don't know what thats about, consider yourself lucky.

training camp cant get here soon enough. im so sick of hearing about this dude on the radio. and its not cause i dislike him.

if theres ever a day again in Oilers fandom where people arent arguing about who sucks the most out of a mountain of sucks, it will be a miracle.

that tat pic rules by the way.

This is a great signing for everyone.

Schremp is motivated to come to camp for the larger paycheck - plus, the MacTavish excuse is gone.

If the Oilers do not need him, he may be snapped up on waivers - thereby getting his big payday

Worst case scenario is that Schremp gets $70,000 to play hockey for a year.

As much as I'd like to see the guy succeed and provide some offense for us, I see him ending up on waivers.

Who is he honestly going to boot out of the top 6? The glut of smallish forwards only adds to his woes. I don't think we'll be seeing any 'Rob Schremp hockey' unless his new team is playing against us or we tune into a Falcons game.

That tattoo picture is hilarious. I just saw the banana hammock picture too. This guy is classic.

It's good that they're giving him a shot with a new coaching staff. I may not have been watching closely enough last year, but I remember him scoring 3 points in four games with friggen Pouliot on his line.

I like to think that he's working on the parts of his game (skating, defence) that have caused him to go from prospect to suspect and I hope he has success, EVEN IF we'll have to listen to BBO say I told you so for the rest of his life.

After seeing that picture I've just lost a little faith in Schremp. It takes a real jackass to get a tattoo of their own initials.

I think it is a picture of BBO

I hope for the best with the guy, but he's always been a little too into himself.

I can totally picture him being in his mid 30's, drinking a lot, and telling everybody how he almost made the Oilers.

Hopefully the guy "gets it" this year.

Pouliot>Schremp.. in almost every quantifiable category. Plus, he is willing to change his game to fit the teams needs. List the things that Schremp is better at, IMO it would be very short.

Pou gets a lot of flack around here, but until proven otherwise(on the ice): Pouliot> Schremp/Brule/Poutley/JFJ/Reddox?
