Vincour looks to have a safe enough margin that we can move on. That marks the 3rd selection from this summer's draft to crack our top 20. I'll be expecting big numbers from him with the Oil Kings this year. Something like 28 goals, 35 assists would be nice.

I'm going with Reilly Smith. Quite a few people seem to be really high on him. The Stars obviously are taking him in the 3rd. The piece I found on him yesterday said he could be the most talented offensive player on the National Champion runner's up. Plus, the guy's over at Redline think he could develop into a late round steal.

Austin Smith has proven himself at a higher level, but Reilly seems like he has very good potential.

I don't see how he could be considered a late round steal at 69th overall no matter what he does (within reason).

I don't know why I said late round, but the point remains that professional scouting services were pegging him as a sleeper pick.

This one could come down to the wire...

I was looking at the Miami University site and they have R. Smith listed at 170 lbs. Did he gain 15 lbs over the summer or are they fudging the numbers?

For some, the 'Freshman 15' comes early. Others, late.

I'm pretty sure the 'freshman 15' is losing 15 pounds.

This is the first time I've seen a Stars thread show up on the pacific division section in a very, very long time.

I picked Austin Smith, hometown kid, fast as hell, seems to be doing well. Probably deserves to go a little higher on this list. Especially with Sachetti not doing so hot and Lindgren bascially being a bust at this point in time.

I thought it was gaining 15. New (poorer) diet entering university life, could do a number on one's metabolism.

That's how I've always heard it.

Hahaha wow, I am totally wrong. my friend lied to me.

I always thought it made sense because people don't know how to cook too well in college, hence their lack of eating stuff. But oh well.

It is gaining weight, not losing it. The theory is a freshman eats less healthy than previously, but also consumes more calories during 'power hour' and nights than before. Add in a less agressive metabolism that hits us all as we age, and it's a toxic combination. Heck, my alma mater had a dietitian, or whatever you call those people, speak during orientation about the subject and how an incoming freshman could avoid packing on weight. The speaker didn't realize just how bad dorm food is, or was, and didn't know the salad bar served week-old vegetables.

I'm thinking of a name change, once again, for you. How about, Captain Gullible? Heh.

You know, i was a rather large kid when I entered in as a freshmen at 280lbs, and by the time the first semester was over... I had dropped 35 lbs due to the miles of walking every day to and from class.

(Damn myself for picking the dorm furthest away from the freshmen buildings.)

We've got the rest of the day to break this tie. The consequences could be castastrophic if we don't.

Have a tie breaker over the holiday weekend with just those two. We can clear that up before most everyone returns on Tuesday. Besides 5 votes alone isn't enough to just leave it as a tie.
