Hotels on Orbitz aren't looking good right now, cheapest one so far is 289 for one night I will check back in a few more days- don't want to wait too long but sometimes you can get better deals if you wait.
Try some hotel outside of the city (but near the "T"). .
I am looking forward to meeting any new folks and seeing the ones I know.

I have thought about that but I don't understand how the T works- if MH1 & mainemariner hadn't been with me I would have had zero clue where to get on or off.

It's very simple...the stop for the Garden is North Station which is on the green line or orange line...but you can get on at any line...just look at a map of the T system, and if you're on a different line other than the green, there's usually a couple options (stops) for where you can switch to either green or orange. The first time I rode the T, I was 12 or 13, by myself...it's not difficult to figure out at all...
Go to MBTA.com and find the "subway" section and that'll show you a map...if and when you book a hotel in or near the city, just ask (a lot have it on their website), or look on a map of what stop is closest to the hotel.

i suggest looking at hotels in quincy or braintree. just a quick search and i am seeing most in the 115-140 per night range. they are outside the city and easily accessible if you are driving. or if you take the train into boston, you can easily get to the hotel on the subway.
plus, if you are going to the garden from braintree it is sad how easy it is using "the T". i went that route everyday going to work so i can probably do it blindfolded now. you can either ask here for help, or following the bruins jerseys is probably the easiest way in!
I'll be there, just not in the section.. Dad doesnt want to go and since i already have a ticket I'm not going to spend money i dont have since i have to deal with another short paycheck the next week or so.. I'll be visiting you all dont u worry!
