Here's what's gonna happen.
  1. In a surprise move, Phoenix is gonna be bought by the NHL and moved to Quebec City
  2. Then, Patrick Roy is gonna be promoted to GM/Coach (bye bye Wayne).
  3. His first move is gonna be to trade for Radulov's rights from Nashville.
  4. And finally, after resigning from the Habs, Boivin is gonna be named the next president of the revived Nordiques!

One can speculate!

Pierre Boivin on his way out?

I didn't see it anywhere, so I guess that if it's already posted, you can merge it to the proper thread.

On Marc Antoine Godin twitter (La Presse journalist, ), he has wrote this : Pierre Boivin on his way out as president of the Habs? He might deny it today, but it sure seems as though he's about to be replaced.

Lots of other usefull stuff on his twit, so : https://twitter.com/MAGodin

It's been talked about a little bit in the last few weeks. But the more I'm hearing, the more I think that it's only a matter of time.

Geoffrey Molson said during a press conference preceding the Habs golf tournament this morning that the Montreal Canadiens will be a partnership and that the Molson family will be the Commandité, i.e. the general partner. He said it was a private transaction and that he did not wish to mention at this time the names and percentages of the partners. Pierre Boivin will be retained as President of the Bell Center and the Spectacles business which are not included in the partnership. He also said that Serge Savard was a respected friend of the organization. The partners list is now complete and no new names are to be added for the time being.

Thanks rocketlives, you wouldn't happen to know if there's a link somewhere with what he said?

Did he really need to say that? After every loss someone in the media is going to to campaign for Savard as GM now.

I would have thought it would be the other way around as a company like Bell would be more interested in retaining the rights to the building so that their name could stay on it.

The sale isn't completed yet, so they can't fire Boivin right now. But the guy chose the wrong horse during the sale. I can't see him staying.

I heard it live on RDS. I'm sure it'll be on www.rds.ca shortly. It seems the Bell Center and Spectacles business will be included in the partnership but with Pierre Boivin as their president. Geoffrey Molson mentioned they were very satisfied with Pierre Boivin's management. Geoffrey Molson will be the President and Chairman of the Board of the new partnership.
