ESPN broke the Heatley trade request

So as far as I am concerned this is credible. They seemed to have reliable sources in the Heatley camp or Ottawa front office

Buccigross is a character guy, you can tell. He's not doing it for self-aggrandizement. I believe what he says. Doesn't mean it will happen, but I believe him.

Well, Buccigross has better stuff to do (like host SportsCenter) than to make up NHL rumors of all things. So I'm guessing this has some authenticity to it

Buccigross doesn't strike me as the type of guy to monger rumors.

There is 100% something to this.

What salary would be going back to Ottawa? Sounded like Marleau was pretty set to nix any trade out of San Jose.

So there are about a half dozen Eklund, Garrioch and amateur bloggers with posts here making up **** left and right and you guys eating it up but when John Buccigross, someone with a shred of decency and well respected in the sports community says something, it's a complete sham?

Judging by Murray's comments the past few days, I'm going to assume that Douglas Murray is a part of the trade. Probably not the big piece, but I'd bet he's included, perhaps with a Sens defenseman like Alex Picard heading back the other way along with Heatley.

Sidorkiechirp is currently 1 for 1 all time for breaking rumours of other peoples posted rumours. Sorry, but those numbers don't lie. Its like a 97.6% success rate.

I heard Pierre McGuire on the radio this afternoon and he said it looks like Healtey will be a Shark, Marleau will be a King and Stoll and Frolov will be Sens. He said it probably will be tinkered with before it's final but expects it'll go down by the weekend. He said Marleau is adamant about staying in California because his wife is from there and he doesn't want to leave.
