Did anyone catch MacLean on Prime Time today? It was very entertaining to say the least.
Summary: Over the last year or so MacLean publicly sided with Bettman and the NHL on not allowing JB buy the Coyotes through bankruptcy and got into several arguments with Bobcat and Brunt about it. Today, MacLean signed on to be an adviser for JB and likely would be his GM if he got the team. Bobcat invited him onto the show today to defend this move and they got into a heated argument. MacLean made it personal by making fun of Bobcat and how he operates. I'm not sure on their past but I don't think they really were friends and they definitely aren't now.
Ya that was great. I wasn't sure if they were just joking or not. But when they were finished and Bob said he'd never invite him on the show again I realized it was serious. Great radio lol.
I caught this, it was entertaining. McCown was basically trying to get MacLean to admit that he was just changing sides because he has been offered a nice NHL job if it goes through and MacLean wasn't about to do that. I don't know the history between the two but there was definitely a bit of snarling before Bob pulled the plug.
It was hilarious. Bobby is an idiot too tbh, but Maclean just made himself look like a tool, and TBH, this image is going to hurt balsillie.... Ugh, moron.
If anyone was watching it you could see bob getting pissed...
was quite entertaining to say the least. Lol McGown and Mc Clean, that was funny.
Mclean is such a tool though, he just went in there attacking, i was surprised bob didnt lose it
maybe he's just using him to have a hockey guy in tow...and if he gets the team, he either keeps the current GM or finds a good one, and Doug can have some other management title...
if he gets the team that is...
If he wins the auction, I think the he and the NHL will come to some deal IMO.

They must have not liked one another before this because the only reason Bob had him on was to rub in the fact that he changed his stance on the issue.
My two favourite parts:
1) When Doug said that Bob was being quiet and letting his buddy do all the talking, Bob responded by saying that he lets his co-hosts talk on his show.
2) Doug said that Bob had been bashing him for two hours before the show only to boost his ratings for the last ten minutes. Bob responded by saying "come on, Doug, you know I don't need to do that."
That was priceless! Loved how McCown told MacLean that he (MacLean) doesn't let Armstrong talk on their radio show, either. MacLean talks over everyone and interrupts constantly and he was even worse tonight.
firstly im gonna say that imo bobcat is probably one of the smartest men in radio. If you dont agree with that, then that is fine, but you can't argue that he is entertaining because he still is the biggest hit on the Fan... Bob was bashing Maclean all night long, but you got the sense it was kind of like just poking fun. the thing i was the most dumbfounded was maclean came on and just started purposely calling him bob mcgowan instead of mccown. it was a disgrace and maclean really made himself look like a child in that interview. lmao BOB freakin MCCOWN needing Maclean to boost his ratings? give me a break haha
for everyone that says bob is a tool, thats a goal for some of their audience. They need to have a host that ticks some people off, to create talk. What would happen if the show had a guy that was always agreeable? Would you listen in to just agree? No, that would suck. Bob is a big deal because when he takes a stance on a subject, he sticks to it.

The other thing with Bob is that he is so logical that no matter what stance hes taking on a subject he is always able to at least make you think. Theres never really a time when you sit there and say wtf is this guy taking about that doesnt even make sense. Even if you disagree with him you have to appreciate his points are very well thought out.
i'm not a fan of bob mccowan's approach, but the guy is smart and that's why i still listen in. i would pee my pants if i were to face off against him in a debate.
I will have to agree with MacLean on one point: McCowan should have had him on first before he started laying the boots to him - at least to hear his comments regarding the situation.... then lay the boots to him.
Most people would have their backs up walking into the situation that
MacLean did.
