my machine came with a video.i watched the video...and by my third or fourth sharpening i found my routine.i do a lot of my buddy's skates as well.they have no complaints, and they keep coming back, so i guess i'm doing alright.

I don't care if the sharpen makes me a better skater, $16.50 is absurd. I don't get the stupid teenager part though, if you can sharpen, you can sharpen. Age shouldn't matter, I'm sure there are some 40 year olds that do a pathetic job as well. Find a place or a guy that does a good job, and keep going back. you'll get consistent results and be satisfied all the time.

I knew a 74 year old that had been ruining skates for decades. lol

depends, when i'm playing goalie i just get a normal sharpen for 4$ around there. but when i'm foward i get FBV on my other skates which is 8-10$ the price went up recently still i got the card from source for sports so i get a free one every once in a while
