I know the guy has been playing RW with the Yotes but he has been playing center for most of his junior career but i think he could be the bight right handed center with skills and potential we have been looking for.
The problem is that he , Turris , Boedker and Michalek are most likely untouchables. We would have a better chance at Hanzal even though his potential may not be as high as the 4 guys i mentionned above. Still , i certainly wouldn't conplain if we landed him. The guy is huge at 6"5 220lbs and has nice offensive skills and potential as well.
If the Coyotes went into Chapter 7 then wouldn't the existing contracts be null and vois hence making all the players free agents?
Does anyone know if there has ever been a presidant for this as I'v never heard of a pro sports franchise going into Chapter & before.
Cleveland Barons was the only team in modern NHL history to just disappear instead of moving to another city. The Oakland Seals became the California Golden Seals then became the Cleveland Barons. The Cleveland Barons came pretty close to going bankrupt (could not pay players salary and lost the arena lease) and having their assets liquidated. But just before that happened, they ended up merging with the Minnesota North Stars. Minnesota took the best players from Cleveland and dumped the rest, trading whatever was left for draft picks and cash (you could trade a player for cash back then) if they could. This left only 17 teams in NHL that year and Minnesota took the Eastern division slot of the Cleveland Barons.
There was never a case in modern NHL history where all the players of a team going bankrupt were offered to the rest of teams in the league in a draft or lotery system. So no precedence.
