Kessel worth two 1st round picks?

Don't get me wrong im excited about the though of kessel being a leaf but not for two 1st round picks and a 2nd rounder. Am I wrong?

yup, that's a steep price.

especially considering the offer sheet is 1st, 2nd, 3rd as compensation.

Tough to justify. That'd be a ballsy move.

If Kessel wins the Conn Smythe 3 years from now you're a genius, but if either one of those first rounders gets good somewhere else you're a dud.

why doesnt burkie just offer a crappy deal for him and when their GM says no sign him to an offer sheet. a 1st 2nd and 3rd is alot better than giving up 1st 1st and 2nd

Exactly.

Although the deal could involve more than that. We don't know the details.

Either way it's risky.

Factor in Burke's move to get the second pick, and it's a staggering loss of future assets for a guy you're overpaying. It's WOW time on this rumor for me.

I'd rather not trade 1st rounders, i can't think of a time in our history when traded a 1st round pick and ended up the winner of the trade
