That one's on Justice as much as Kolb. Peppers might as well have been unblocked.

He didn't even look. Just took the snap, turned, and fired it over to him.

I never saw Kolb play in college, but anything I have ever seen from him is just not good. 2007 was just a bad year for quaterbacks. Russel went first overall and that is just because Al Davis is nuts. Quinn was supposed to be the best one and didn't go until the 20s. Then Kolb and Beck where the next two to go. For some reason the Eagles felt that they could steal one of the better quaterbacks in a year where no one wanted one because there weren't good ones to grab.
So 8 plays determine that he is utter crap. I am just saying he has had his moments in the pre-season and he isn't exactly calling the plays. Yeah he has made some suspect decisions but every young QB without real game experience will do that. And yes he just fumbled...but man you can't judge him on such few plays. It isn't like he pulled an Orlovsky(running right out of the endzone).

A lot of guys look good in pre-season. Things change when it's not pre-season. Kolb hasn't done anything, now he fumbles the ball. His numbers won't keep you in the league very long when you keep turning the ball over.

Kolb isn't being judged on 8 plays, he's being judged on a couple of very underwhelming seasons AND 8 plays.

I still think Drew Stanton will be the best QB to come out of the 07 Draft.

Kolb needs to at least get some points on the board. He's never thrown a touchdown, but has thrown 2 pick-6's. Now an incomplete shovel pass. With Vick being signed, Kolb has to show something, or else he's off to the UFL, because he hasn't shown anything that any other offensive coordinator will be impressed with to the point where they'd want him on the team.

In those underwhelming seasons he had less than 100 plays probably. He is a back up. He isn't going to be able to show much if McNabb can stay healthy.

Also Andy calls a horrible game for a QB trying to get into his groove. If this was Vick he'd be getting creamed too. It is too small of a sample size to say he is crap.

Thankfully we had sound back so we could just hear the run down about why Kolb is not so good by the guys on Fox. Most of Kolb's preseason play is against the other teams 2nd and 3rd stringers, so anything done there shouldn't count. As soon as Vick is back, Kolb will be designated the third QB. He will most likely get no playing time the rest of the season unless both Vick and McNabb get hurt real bad. Vick will be the second QB so they can get him in during Wildcat formations and such.

After this display I would sell him to the Panthers for like 6 bucks.

I really had questions about the run d when Stewart Bradley went down but this d has really shut one of the better running combos...why? i think its because of the pressure theyre getting up front. But all in all, color me impressed...

The corners are so good; Samuel, Brown, Hobbs, that they can pressure up front and let those guys play one on one. If the Panthers had more than one good WR they might have to drop some LBs in to a zone coverage, but they only needed to shut down Smith.

I thought it was week 3. Eagles have a bye in week 4. So if it isn't week 3 we have to wait until week 5.

Btw craziest Denver play to end the game. Holy Cow.

From inside their own 15 Orton throws down the field to Marshall. Cincy CB jumps up and tips the ball, it travels in the air towards the middle of the field about 7 yards down field. Brandon Stokely gets under neath, catches it, runs down the field and pulls a Madden play and runs along the goaline to kill time off the clock.

Like I said Andy Reid's play calling does NOT at all help a QB get into rhythm. This isn't like Flacco or Ryan who actually have runs mixed in.

Andy Reid's 4th down call was horrible though. He had no hope.

Jim Johnson is smiling right now. The defense just dominated today.

And Kolb isn't very good.

Sick game from the Eagles D.

On the negative side, Kevin Kolb looked like complete garbage against a demoralized team. Jesus. I sure hope Dono is ok.

Good way to start the season - the iggs have a favorable early schedule, so lets see if they can start out hot.
