If I'm a Sens fan, I'm OK with Michalek and a 2nd.
Cheech is just gag worthy. But, I expect mass cliff jumping regardless.
Do you know the terms of their contracts? I believe Michalek is 4+ and Cheechoo about three but don't know the length. They ( Ottawa) gets 2 for 1 in players and the salary is about a wash.

I read in the thread on the mains that San Jose loses 200k and Ottawa picks up 200k in salary.
Sharks GM Wilson always seems to make great trades.
Yeah, the Ehrhoff-Lukowich trade was truly awesome, wasn't it?
Generalizations BAD.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!
The Post has learned that the agent for Nikolai Zherdev, who rejected the Rangers' $3.25 million qualifier and then became a free agent when the team walked away from his $3.9 million arbitration award, called the club this week offering to return for $3.25 million. The offer was refused.
I like Heatley, always have. SJ should come out ahead in short term but the real measuring stick will be during the playoffs, will he help them make it past the first round. Oh, Mason will get to see him a bit more as will we...
This fool thinks Bylsma is a better coach than Hitchcock, and of course I had to say something, and now the Pens bandwagoners are all over me.
Feel free to help your boy TW out here. This has hashmarks written all over it, she argues much better than me.

I added a piece, but most of the people in that thread seemed pretty reasonable. That one guy is out to lunch, but the whole ranking is out of whack.

Try living in Pittsburgh.
So far, my favorite bit of local hockey analysis has been: the Penguins beat the Flyers in the playoffs because "the Flyers don't have any stars."
For those of us who need to watch hockey, any kind of hockey, here is the NHL Network preseason schedule:
Mon., Sept. 14 NY Islanders at Vancouver 10:30 p.m.
Wed., Sept. 16 Boston at Toronto 7:00 p.m.
Thu., Sept. 17 Toronto at Philadelphia 7:00 p.m.
Mon., Sept. 21 PITTSBURGH at Montreal 7:30 p.m.
Tue., Sept. 22 PITTSBURGH at Toronto 7:00 p.m.
Wed., Sept. 23 Toronto at Buffalo 7:00 p.m.
Thu., Sept. 24 Edmonton at Tampa Bay 8:30 p.m.
Fri., Sept. 25 Boston at Ottawa 7:00 p.m.
Sat., Sept. 26 Vancouver at Calgary 9:00 p.m.
Sun., Sept. 27 PITTSBURGH at Detroit 5:00 p.m.
Taken from the Pens web site, hence the Pens are in bold

True, but the trade didn't help the Shark's cap problems one bit. A motivated Heatley will certainly make the Sharks better, but they still have to give something up. The question is what?
Marc Denis to be goalie coach for QMJHL team. Sounds like maybe he's done, although he reserves the right, etc etc.
I loved Marc when he was here. He was a rock in net for a team that couldn't get out of its own way. That said, the trade was a good one for the Jackets and for whatever reason he fell apart. I wish him well.
