Why are MDZ and Gilroy in for the second time in 2 days, but Sang is out?

With Sangs's collapse routine and DZ doing so well, I think its fair to say that regardless of age DZ has a better shot no?

I can't imagine that a first round pick who was Hartford's #1 defenseman is already in the doghouse without playing a single game.

Why is Heineken already in Hartford?

A better question would be, why is Heineken lower on the depth chart apparently than this career ECHL dman we have on the third pairing tonight?

Former Devil Dan LaCouture, who is in camp with the Rangers as a tryout, played for Hartford. He was originally listed as playing for the Rangers tonight against the Devils in the NHL exhibition. He'll be replaced in the Rangers' lineup tonight by right wing Jordan Owens.

EDIT: Noticed Dan LaCouture still in the lineup in the OP, but I see YMMV has already posted the lineup with Jordan Owens included.

I wouldn't necessarily say it is their A team. Yes you will see Parise and Zajac, but they are playing with Shanahan, who you guys claim is too slow.

Zubrus is centering the 2nd line, which has Rolston and a Rookie on it.

For Defense, Martin is not playing, so missing our top defenseman there.

The rest of the lines are rookies. Brodeur is not playing. You got Danis as a goalie. I think you guys will have more than just a chance.

I'm very happy that the lines in the OP seem to be wrong. I want to see what Lisin looks like with Avery and Prospal not Voros and Arnason. Also, I'm upset that Illka played the AHL game... Was hoping to see what he could do against the NHL'ers. My guess is he'll get a chance next week.

We have a chance, but I think we see Parise and Zajac as our Gaborik and Drury, who we dont have. Not making excuses, I just think you have a more talented lineup. Goaltending we have the edge though.

make what u wish of that. i dont think torts has his mind set on any of the open spots yet. especially not after one game.

Are you going to have Gaborik during the regular season though? So what difference will that make? Also, what does it matter if Drury is in your lineup or not? It is not like he contributes a lot to the scoring

Well, for our team, 23 goals is a good contribution. Its not what he put up in Buffalo but i think its about what Zajac scored last year.

As far as Gaborik if he isnt in the lineup, I certainly dont expect us to beat you guys. Thats my point. Having Gaborik in at least makes us competitive, without him I think we're sunk.

Hmm I disagree. I think Prospal is a very good player. There are some promising rookies on the Rangers also. As for Drury, yeah I know he was ok last season, I was just giving some old fashioned ribbing. Zajac though had more assists and a much better +/- Which is surprising because Drury is supposed to be a good defensive forward.

So whether or not Gaborik plays, I still think the Rangers will make the playoffs. I'm thinking it is the Flyers who might not make it this season, even with Pronger. Just a hunch.

Drury is overrated defensively, but Zajac's +/- was insanely inflated last season because the team was scoring left and right and played pretty good defense. Our team wasn't scoring and playing ****** defense for most of the season.

Anyway, these two teams playing today ares till not comparable. Having Hank in net doesn't mean much to me since he'll only be in for half the game and he's not very good in preseason.

I'm sure it'll be a fun game, just very lopsided.
