It's been said over and over again that he's not 100%. He has a sore groin. Happens to 95% of NHL players once they start heavy skating again after a long summer. Given his history of injuries, why even risk skating? He has nothing to prove in training camp. The goal is for him to be as close to 100% once the season starts.
Gaborik is a terrible interview, i know they didnt bring him in for that - but it feels like the reporters are pulling his teeth.
Yeah, that's typical. He's a really shy, private person, and for the first few years over here, he struggled badly with English. He's better at it now, but still seems very self-conscious about it, and isn't very talkative.
He does try, though. He really does try to be open with the media, and to make himself accessible. He's a really decent kid. He's just not your outgoing, outspoken, grab-the-nearest-microphone type. A guy can only be who he is.
