Would rather piss up a rope than pay a ticket price to watch Dom Moore play for the Rangers again!

You can add 7 3rd and 4th line centers together, but it doesnt make a 1st line center.

Salary wise it could.

I think Betts is better.
I loved Moore's game here but he ain't a 1st liner in the AHL.

Much prefer him to Betts, though. Just as smart and infinitely better offensive instincts.

Edit: As long as I'm fantasizing, the guy I still wish we had for this job is Malhotra.

Sounds like him trying to save face. Burke went on record that there was an offer to the Moore camp.

Let's bring back Ortmeyer too! As if we don't have enough 3rd and 4th liners as it is.

Caught me by surprise as well, but he did say that particular offer(3@1.7) was never tendered.

As for Moore, he really played hard and stood up for himself on a team full of softies and if the leafs were an actual playoff contender and had room i'd welcome Dom back at 1-1.25.

God no. We're in trouble if Dominic Moore is anywhere near the top line.

He can't center Gaborik. They tried that in Minnesota and after a couple of games, they gave up. In fact Moore ended up as a healthy scratch several times in MSP.

The only reason you would sign him is if you had already folded on Boyle.

If Dom Moore is our first line center this year, Taylor Hall will be next year.

As Dubinsky remains unsigned, so too does Dominic Moore, who overplayed his hand last year in rejecting a lucrative multi-year extension from the Maple Leafs. Sather has had conversations with Moore, and does have some level of interest in the one-time Blueshirt who is coming off a 45-point (13-32) year.

But if Moore is signed, it would be to fill the role as either the third- or fourth-line center, not as a potential replacement for Dubinsky.

Sather traded Moore when he filed for salary arbitration.

I really thought this was a joke or, at very least, fans latching on to a former favorite, until Brooks' report. Color me shocked that there's actually something to this.

We all "like" Dom, but we also all know Dom. Bringing him in under the guise that he's going to center the top line is beyond ridiculous. It's not a situation you willingly put yourself in, especially with the other options you've already got under contract.

We already chose Betts over Dom four years ago. Guess what........both are gone at this point. Boyle is going to fill the fourth line center role nicely.

You'd rather have a 3rd line forward play at the #1 pivot then a 2nd line forward play at the #1 pivot?

That doesn't make any sense at all.

Moore is no better a center then Prospal, as neither are great centers. Moore's best play is often using his speed to streak down the boards. He's got great speed, but lacks the on ice awareness and playmaking to use his wingers as an effective playmaker, thus making him better as a guy relying on someone else to do the puck carrying and distribution. In his own end, he's pretty decent as his speed works well to get back and get into position. It also takes smarts to be a defensive player and he's obviously not dumb. Prospal is a much better distribution guy and hence, IMO, better equipped to be a center. Additionally, Prospal's overall talent is higher than Moore's.

The Rangers don't need another nonphysical third line player with good speed. No thanks to Moore.
