Which rookie d-men will make the team?

I made this poll about 6 weeks ago and Gilroy was the only one that came out ahead (http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=668012&). The others were very close.

Now that we've been able to see them play some, what's your opinion on who will make the team?

Man that poll was pretty close

I am going with Heikkinen and Gilroy

Was at the game last night and I thought Sanguinetti looked pretty good but did make some plays I don't think the coaches will like

Potter did'nt really do much. I am thinking he goes back

Heikkinen did not stand out but was pretty solid.Laid the body

I am hoping Sanguinetti and Heikkinen are dressed 2nite cause it's still open

Gilroy for sure, Del Zotto back to junior. If this was next yr he is a lock

Maybe the bigger question is which rookie defenseman would you rather make the team?

I dont think Heikkinen was that good last night.

I think DZ has played better than him by far.

Too earlyh for me to vote BTW

Gilroy is gonna make the team, IMO.

I'm hoping Harry (Potter) makes it too.

I dont see why people are saying to send MDZ back to juniors....he has clearly been the best all around of the guys on that poll

i understand that he's 19, but if hes ready, he's ready.....and i for one think he is

i understand wanting to take Gilroy....hes nothing short of explosive on offense, but the rest have been pretty bad. Potter specifically, i was calling for him to make the team before preseson, now i completely revoke my statements....hes looked like garbage

Del Zotto appears to be completely capable in our own zone and has been our best powerplay defensemen so far

he is a PP quarterback for the future, why not get him in now? especially if he doesn't appear to be a liability on defense

Del Zotto and Gilroy.

We understand they are not defensive stalwarts, but what they bring to the attack is incredible.

With them on the ice and without them is like day and night.

Besides that, they are good in their own zone, good enough to be NHL players now.

At the moment it's Gilroy and MDZ--though Del Zotto has 10 NHL games to prove himself really ready or go back to London (OHL) and be replaced by either Sanguinetti, Heikkinen, Potter or Sauer. Gilroy and Del Zotto have looked the best and I really like how mobile and how calm the 19 year old Del Zotto is on the pwp.

I want it to be Gilroy and DZ, but think it will be the former and Sangs.

If Gilroy makes it, the other defenseman is going to be cheap, so Potter has a higher chance to make it than MDZ (unfortunately for DZ who has played quite well and imo has been the Rangers 3rd best dman in preseason). I'm not sure what Sangs, Sauer, and the others make but if its like 500k-700k they are more of a shoe-in.

I hope Del Zotto makes it. I like his fire. Although, I wouldn't be disappointed with either Sanguinetti or him.

A bit early as MDZ has already gotten 2 games while Sangs has gotten one. Gilroy to me is definitely a lock for a spot but the other I think is between those two kids.
