Brashear vs Thornton is a lock . Plus look for Byers to do a little more today to try and stand out

Girardi-Del Zotto
Semenov-Sanguinetti

Kotalik-Prospal-Avery
Brashear-Boyle-Voros
Lisin-Anisimov-Parenteau
Owens-Locke-Byers

Love the idea of playing all the kids on D - everyone there other than Semenov has top 4 potential. They should be fun to watch...

...if they were playing with competent forwards. But I count 7 players in the forward ranks that project as either 4th line or AHL guys (and no, I'm not including Avery ). This is going to be a **** show.

This will be an interesting test to see how our rookie dmen stand up to some relatively big, skilled, offensive players.

I was thinking the same thing about the defense man.. It's like looking through a little window to the future of the defense corps. It's going to very interesting to see how each of the four -Del Zotto, Staal, Sanguinetti, and Gilroy- all handle playing the point on the powerplay. It'll be great to compare and contrast styles. I'm especially excited to see if Sanguinetti can improve upon his strong game from last night(although this is from heresy, as I was unable to watch the game).

According to both Zipay and Gross more cuts after today, and they feel it will be right around 23 players so after today we will pretty much have our final roster, with the exception of maybe one cut.

Think the reason Grachev isn't playing today is because Torts has seen enough and thinks he should stay? Or because he doesn't want to waste his time and has decided to cut him?

This is so nerve racking XD

I'm pretty sure it's the latter. Grachev has been good, but I think Anisimov and Lisin have been just a little better. I still see him on this team at some point during the season

"He's been a little bit of a surprise to me," Tortorella said. "I knew there was talent there. I think he's shown a high talent level. He can skate. We've tried to put him in a lot of different situations. When we've put the three Russians together (Anisimov, Grachev) that's been a good line. He's given us some good minutes. That's why he's still here."

Sure seems like Lisin had to really impress Torts to make this team, and he is well on his way, good for Enver he deserves it.

They borrowed those 3 from Hartford training camp, and will be returned after the game.

he was sent to finish camp with the pack. He wasn't officially sent to the pack yet because of the waivers. He is getting a look today but mostly likely he will be waived. Beyers and Pissmiller both workout with the pack players but around for when needed for games

Now add McDonagh to that group.
