Gauthier always stays until the end, I feel like the organization does it as a favor to him....

Kip Brennan signed with Springfield I think of the AHL.

I agree Richardson is trash, give the 4th spot to Cliche or Lewis....The problem is who flanks the wings...? Ivanans or Westgarth on one side or Clune, Zeiler or Segal on the other....?

Richardson played very well last night. I would not mind him on the fourth line if he played like he did against the Ducks.

It makes sense that Moller would be sent down, too. Our top three lines are set.

Smyth-Kopitar-Williams
Purcell-Stoll (or Schenn? )-Brown
Frolov-Handuz-Simmonds

Those lines are, for the most part, set. If Purcell falters, I could see Moller being put on that second line left wing.

Little surprised they didn't keep Voynov is a little longer.
Looks like Purcell will finally make it.
Moller being sent is the right move.
Nice that they're giving Schenn some more experience.

Yeah Hammond posted those lines that you listed above....so the 4th line spot is between Westgarth, Ivanans, Richardson, Cliche, Lewis, Segal and Zeiler....

That's 7 players for 3 spots and possibly 1-2 spare spots who sit in the press box along with Harrold, our #7 D.

At this point it's possible that Schenn might just get a 10-game tryout, then back to juniors.

If that happened, he would need someone to replace him after start of season -- Moller, I'd guess.

Why would Schenn stick....The first 3 lines are set....and there are about 3-4 more guys with one way NHL deals still in the mix like Zeiler, Ivanans, Harrold, and Richardson as well as possibly young guys like Lewis, Cliche and Westgarth.

Williams-Kopitar-Smyth
Purcell-Stoll-Brown
Frolov-Handzus-Simmonds

Stoll's questionable health is a prime reason why.

Stoll said he is ready to play and going to meet with Terry Murray about getting in some games next week...It's in all the recent press....

Purcell looks good now, but his consistency has always been the problem. I'm guessing Moller still plays a good amount.

Stoll might not be ready for start of the season so second line center could be Schenn's for a few games to give it a go on tryout.
Its been mentioned a few times here in a few threads. But not by management or coaches yet!

Clune is also still up so make it 8 players

I know about that, but for Stoll's particular situation, I'll believe it when I see it.

I forgot about Clune! Then it's 8 guys for 3 spots plus maybe 2 spare spots...Ouch that is a battle....

I have to imagine one of Zeiler, Richardson and Ivanans gets waived or traded, Segal and one of Lewis and Cliche go to Manchester, and Clune, Westgarth, 2 of the 3 of Zeiler/ Richardson/Zeiler make it and Lewis or Cliche center.

At this point from what I've seen Zeiler makes the perfect 13th forward, Ivanans is trade bait and the battle is at center between 3 young guys; Cliche, Lewis and Richardson....Clune and Westgarth seem to be in the coaches favor at the moment....I love those guys anyways.

He ought to be the first call-up in case of injury/sucking.

No surprise that he was sent down.
Moller was doing just fine until he went to the World Juniors, got hurt and returned to the lineup quicker than expected. He does need to physically mature but if you aren't high on Moller and don't see what he is capable, then you are short changing him. He's got the talent to be a top six forward and I think he will prove to be a permanent fixture on the roster very soon.

Yeah the dude is barely 20.....Purcell is 24 and Simmonds is bigger and stronger and fills more of a checking role so give Moller time....As of today, he is the Kings best offensive prospect not in the Kings camp.

WOW! Their are gonna be alot of future Kings in Manchester this year.

Better than a bunch of 25+ year old fringe NHL'ers

No way Moller fails to make it to the NHL. No way. I can see Lombardi packaging him in a big trade but Moller is destined to become, at minimum, a solid 3rd line center on a good team and more likely a 2a to 2b.

He fills out and adds about 15 pounds and he will be a force.

A last line of any of the following would make me happy.

Clune-Richardson-Westgarth (my choice)
Richardson-Lewis-Westgarth
Ivanans-Richardson-Lewis (i think we'll start the season with this)

Ex: Harrold/either Clune or one of westgarth/ivanans

For Moller it's unfortunate they may have hindered his development last year as he should have been sent back to Junior.
This year I am fine with him being sent to Manchester and he will be a great player but had he made this team we were running the risk of ruining some long term potential.
LA is going to make a big stride this year and Moller at some point this year or next will be able to be a part of it...

Ummm these guys should already be down in Manchester. Campbell has looked really bad. They'll be there soon.

article on the cuts.

http://www.lakingsnews.com/2009/09/m...-monarchs.html

I noticed a discrepancy on Gauthier. He's been announced as both cut and remaining on the team.

Quote:
The last battle is for the 4th line. Richard Clune, Brandon Segal and John Zeiler will fly with wreckless abandon to be the team’s equivalent of getting shampoo in your eye, or, more appropriately, squirting it in someone else's. Kevin Westgarth will attempt to leave a bloody mess of bodies between him and current Kings’ enforcer Raitis Ivanans. Finally, Gabe Gauthier, Brad Richardson, Marce-Andre Cliché and Trevor Lewis will do their best to not screw up worse than the other guy while staying out of the way of the train of goons they will be anchoring.

However, there are some conflicting reports about Gauthier. Rich Hammond reports that Gauthier remains in camp (here), while the Kings' official website reports that he was cut (here), though Gauthier's name appears on neither the camp roster or cut list. I'm going with Hammond for now that he did not get sent to Manchester.

I think the only other moves I can see being made are Ivannans and Zeiler to go on Waivers. Schenn back to Jrs. Clifford may make it(from what I was told) and possibly Bernier taking the backup job off of Ersberg and possibly moving Ersberg.

Who knows these days with Frolov.
