Avery has sprained MCL, "not serious" (post 35)

http://njmg.typepad.com/rangersblog/...limps-off.html

"Rinkside here at the Rangers morning skate where about five minutes ago Sean Avery skated off limping, favoring his right leg after colliding with Ryan Callahan at the blue line in a passing drill."

Hopefully nothing serious. Avery is pretty tough, so guess we'll see what happens

Eh, no loss. Less chirping, more scoring with Lisin in his spot.

Damn, hope he's allright. I think Avery had ligament problems in the past. Hoping that is not the case

Lisin should get his shot then under a Tortorella top 9 offense, and Sam and Joe will find someone else to talk endlessly about.

Good.

Good.
Sam and Joe will have their hands full trying with damage control to pump up Redden and Rosie if they keep playing like this.

"What an alert play by Redden, Sam. You see how he made a pass?"

This is why having 10 "top 9" forwards is prefreable.

if he is hurt, and i hope he is not irregardless of enver lisins playing time, it makes us a much weaker team.

he has a week to heal, no problemo......think positive folks

on and Lisin for president.......no but seriously why the hate on the kid, jeesh. If it was a home grown talent like Korpikoski it may be a different feeling

If he were a homegrown kid he would be much more of a known quantity.

Do we even know the extent of this injury? It could be precautionary that they are keeping him out tonight.

From the Daily news Blog:
http://feeds.nydailynews.com/~r/nydn...rning-ska.html

"As you’re adding Marian Gaborik’s name to your lineup card tonight, you can scratch Sean Avery from the list, because the left winger was felled by a collision with Ryan Callahan during this morning’s skate. Avery and Callahan came together as they were trying to cross at the blue line during a drill about 30 minutes into the skate, with what looked to be a more leg-on-leg collision than knee-on-knee (let’s just use NHL parlance and say lower-body-on-lower-body). Avery went down in a heap and stayed down for a few moments, then got up skating gingerly on his right leg. He went straight to the locker room and the Rangers sent him to team doctor Tony Maddalo to get checked out."

****.

I can't help but think of when Callahan and Dawes collided in 2007-08; Callahan sprained his knee, missed a chunk of the season, and even when he came back he wasn't the same (even got sent down to Hartford for a while to get himself right).

Hopefully its not that serious.

(What's the deal with Callahan colliding with people...)

Avery was just lining up his next law suit, for negilgence, this time. He will be fine after a weeks worth of massages in the Fashion Ave, vicinity.

Sean Avery knee injury "not serious", according to coach John Tortorella. But he will be examined by second team doctor here this evening
