You can always rely on Loffen's first post for every link you're gonna need for the night.

Yeah that sounds better. I was only joking before, I'm pumped as hell to finally see him play. I just hope he settles in nicely and the fact that he plays a game stops being a headline once the regular season is underway.

Just gonna throw this out there: I think it's a dumb move by Torts to put our shiny, new, fragile toy out there without Brashear in the lineup. I don't care who we're playing. If the other team goes after Gaborik, we need a guy who will go after their star player.

Explain to me what the Red Wings, a western conference team have to gain from taking out Gaborik in a preseason game. The coach would lose huge amounts of money out of pocket. They play us once a year. If it was the Devils or Isles I would understand. but we wont see any Goon Red Wings running Gaborik

Stuart and Kronwall can lay on the boom though. Hopefully they'll play "nice" tonight.
If something does happen, we can always count on Voros to step up!... and get his face bashed in.

Like I said before, I don't care who the team is. Even non-goon teams like Detroit can have that one player that takes Gaborik out. Like Loffen said, Stuart and Kronwall are heavy hitters. I think it's foolish to not have Brashear watching Gabs back.

Either way, if Brash watches Gabby's back it doesn't matter as I see it. If someone lays out Gaboirk the damage will already be done, it doesn't matter if someone makes them pay or not, like I said the damage will be done.

Sorry, but Brash nor anyone can prevent Gaborik from getting laid out.

First and foremost: We can't baby him the entire season. He has to get his feet wet and we have to see how he will do in a real situation. If his groin starts to bother him, he'll simply let the trainers know and chances are he'll rest the remainder of the game.

Two: As I initially stated: Brash nor anyone can prevent Gabs from getting laid out. If they're going to "run him" they're going to...but I am 100% that it will not happen. As someone said earlier, it's a pre-season game against a western team. If Gab's can't take a hard hit...then shame on him.

Did Detroit change the font or something for the names on the back of the jersey? Looks weird...

Wooh! First pre-season game I'll actually see this year. Gabs is there, and I hear both Franzén and Holmström are brought in for the Wings. I'm insanely hyped up for this, and streams are working fine!

But if Brash does a superman dive into Datsyuk's face it'll be retribution.

We lose our star player, they should too.

Yep, the font is different for regular season games and the nameplate is usually arched.

Quote:
A note... If you see images from tonight's game and wonder what's wrong with the Wings' jerseys, the answer is nothing. Every preseason the Wings use sweaters with names straight across the shoulders rather than the arched names they use during the regular season. Every season people forget about that and think a big change has been made.
