Eh, no loss. Less chirping, more scoring with Lisin in his spot.
jeez. Really? You won't miss his 12 points in 14 games from the end of last season, will you? I will. Lisin won't touch that pace. It is a loss for a team that struggles to score so much.

so let me get this straight.
you are saying lisin cannot score 12 points in 14 games or wont because he wont be playing.
if its the former, you are dead wrong. i love avery but he wont score more than lisin if they both play top 9. no way. ever.
if its the latter, no argument here. cant score from the press box.
averys worth to the team is far far far far far far far greater than lisin. avery gets other players and entire teams to focus solely on him. considering his not the greatest offensive player on the team, this frees up time and space for the better players to do their thing.

How can you say that? Where are you drawing this information from? One guy did it, the other hasn't. Maybe Lisin would, but we are better with the known quantity that accomplished it and brings an all around game.
It's amazing. Avery won't do it even though he has. Lisin will do it even though he hasn't. You speak in such absolute and definitive terms as if it's already in the history books. It's like saying Greg Gilbert was better than Shanahan because he wasn't given the same opportunities.
Anything like that has to be taken seriously. They should make sure it heals totally before playing him in a game because that isnt the type of injury you want a player to have linger for a long period of time.
I just got a grade one in my right knee and a grade 2 sprain in my left knee from tending goal during a tourny. It's been 2 weeks and i still can't fully extent my left knee.

what's the rangers record with lisin in the line-up?
seriously, you really can't say anything because avery is pretty good for about 40 pts (barring injury). who knows what lisin can bring to the table? (i would love for him to prove me wrong)

Not to mention the Avery-factor. Sean can throw people off their game like none other in this league.

please, please read what you initially wrote.

first off. i challenged your assertion that sean avery would outscore enver lisin.
to that i say. um.... no. just no.
second. your assertion, as ridiculous as it may seem, was that losing sean avery hurts a team that struggles to score and implying that lisin wouldnt atleast replace averys production or surpass it. that again, is fantasy at best.
sean avery is a great hockey player but his is in no way going to outscore enver lisin if they played the same minutes on the same line. period. end of story.
your argument is silly. lisin hasnt , avery has. first, well i counter with lisin can and perhaps avery never will again. hows that?
enver lisin has scored 4 goals this preseason playing with different linemates each night on a new team, in a new city, with new coaches and a new system.
4 goals in 4 games played. has sean avery matched that ? i mean head to head, this preseason, lisin is outscoring avery right?
hes done ok so far. right?
and the question never was....." are we a better team with avery' ? yes
it never was, "is sean avery valuable to this team" ? yes
i love sean avery. love his overall skill set. i think hes a terrific talent. and his intangible are what makes him special but that wasnt the issue. what i took exception to was saying enver lisin wont touch a 12 points in 14 games pace. period.
rest up till the last preseason game or crap even till the first game for the yr........ not pt to rush it back for Thursday. I'm sure he'll be out the next game or two

I agree. There's no need to rush the guy back for Pre-season.
Avery will get plenty of time to heal. It is Grachev who benefits big time here and not Lisen. The big kid is going to get his shot, thanks to Sean's unfortunate injury. He may never look back and that would be great for the Rangers. Avery helps us yet again. Get well soon Sean and make the most of this chance Tank!
off the ice hes a bit of a jerk, but when hes playing hes more than solid skill wise.
Well, you've already downgraded him from great to very, very good hockey player, with a little prodding. Soon he will be what he is, a fairly decent player when he isn't being an idiot ON the ice.
You can't alternately help and hurt your team on every other shift or game and be a very, very good player. He is potentially a very good player but until he puts together a whole season, heck, how about half a season he is more of a sideshow entertainment than anything else.
At least you understand deep down that Avery and great do not belong in the same sentence. Ovechkin is great. Avery is a bunch of rungs lower on the greatness ladder.
