The whole team played poorly at the start of the game and found themselves down 2-0. Most players had some bad positioning issues.

The Leafs came out during the second period looking like a different team. During the first goal, Pitts goalie comes out to challenge Bozak, but Bozak passes the puck to Stahlberg who has a completely open net.

The Leafs from this point on seemed to dominate, but they just couldn't score. Nearing the end of the game they hit quite a few off the post, and finally Kadri roofs one with just over a minute left off a Beauchemin rebound.

Nothing happens in overtime, so the game goes to shootouts. Kadri starts off by scoring an incredible goal. He deeked the Pitts goalie out of his clothes. Toskala foiled Staal's attempt at a deek. Bozak missed his attempt. I can't remember the next Pitts player, but he scored. Finally Stempniak scores to finish off the game.

P.S. Rosehill flattened two players in the same play. Komisarek tried to fight Staal, but Staal was on the ground. Instead of cheaply punching him on the ground, Komisarek helped him up and then pummeled him. Good times.

quick break down.

we started very sloppy
toskala was all over the place, down way way to early on the first goal (bayda), grabo & kaberle both left him to tripple cover the other side.
stalberg wheels
they got a breakaway when komi pinched, weak effort from tosk IMO... AHL move...

bozak showed his excellent 2 way play
rosehill crushed staal, and fedentako in the same shift.

komi crushed cook then pumbled staal (love the guy)

we started to build momentum

komi pinches, forces a nice turnover, bozak with a nice move, stalberg with empty net goal.

our play really picks up, tide turns, we get really nice pressure, consistently. Schenn looked okay, kinda quiet, but at one point stepped into a nice slap shot, something i've not seen from him since juniors

beau leveled one of their young players, then fought their tough guy (willingly)... in short, beau is a beauty.

next we start hitting a stupid # of posts, looking like a loss, when we deserved to tie it. hanson, kadri, beau, all got at least one post.

then beau let a rocket fly, bounced around (off of mckee's face at one point), over to kadri, who despite the bouncing puck shelves it with authority.

they were lucky to escape OT, stalberg and hanson both with great chances. (another post, and a nice save).

kadri with an incredibly sick backhand deke on the first shot.
save on staal
save (bozak lost handle, nicked goalies stick, close though)
goal don't remember by who (pens)
goal stemps five-hole, barely trickled in.

everyone goes nuts.

kadri talk begins.

You say the Leafs were down 2-0 early. Who played in goal for the Leafs tonight?

our top 6 is shaping up rather nice:

?-kadri-kessel
hanson-bozak-stalberg

they all bring very good skill to the table.
Yes many have, perhaps because of the two higher profile collegians. He has had a strong pre-season and looked like he belonged in his last three games last season.
In a typical pre-season, when the Leafs might only have one young forward to get excited about, we would be talking about him maybe making the club. I think people were expecting a bit more of a power forward rather than an offensive guy. Must be the Slapshot connection

I think it is an "Arab" outfit. Since Kadri is now widely being referred to as "The Arabian Knight".

I got a little too excited after Kadri's goal to the extent that a neighbour of mine came over to check and see if I was ok.

People are messing up on their game recapd. Pittsburgh didn't score on either of their shots in the shootout.

The game went to 15 shootout rounds, and Kadri made a deak and shot the puck miraculously off his tush

You'll be glad to see that your boys in blue tied the game in the last minute. Kadri scored to the game tying goal with 1 minute left and scored the winner in the shootout with a beaut!

Oh, and Komi beat the crap out of J. Staal

My humor went over everyone's head. Do we not find it somewhat funny that Toskala let in 2 early goals (no matter what the reason is).

No. Hockey goalies does that from time to time. The good ones as well as the bad ones.

Thanks for the Kadz link (I insist that is his nickname) a beauty of a goal.

Correct. Pittsburg's second SO chance was a low stickside shot that Toskala kicked away.
