The remaining roster spot battles appear to be: (not that they're all fighting for the same spot.)

Lewis vs. Clifford vs. Schenn vs. Clune vs. Richardson vs. Cliche

Westgarth vs. Ivanans

Drewiske vs. Campbell vs. Piskula vs. Hickey vs. Martinez

Ersberg vs. Bernier
Should be a great one!

This is what Hammond has the lineups as for tonights game. Interesting to see Lewis playing on wing, I'm rooting for the kid. Cliche has a decent shot at making the team as 4th line center, seems a good fit.

Here's how the Kings are expected to skate against the Islanders tonight in Kansas City:

Lewis-Stoll-Purcell
Frolov-Handzus-Simmonds
Clune-Harrold-Richardson
Ivanans-Cliche-Westgarth

O'Donnell-Doughty
Drewiske-Martinez
Piskula Hickey

Quick

In the interview before the game, TM mentioned the Kings are looking for a #7 D man, a vertsatile forward and some grit....

That bodes well for Lewis, who is vertsatile, Clune/Westgarth for grit and probably Piskula, Campbell, Martinez for the #7....I don't think the Kings want Hickey sitting in the press box all year....

It is 1-1 after 1, so at least they are getting to see some goals.

When the Kings said they were into getting one more Veteran. I was thinking Bret Hedican but that didn't turn out.

I'm gonna call it right now, John Zeiler will get called up at least once this season. And that's a guarantee. Kings always seem to have one or two freakin lame ducks on their roster to tick off the fans. Don't be too happy people he'll be back.

Hey guys, Ranger fan here. How has Cliche looked so far, he was always touted pretty highly by the Rangers before being traded for your favorite agitator, Sean Avery.

Worse than Jeff Giuliano?

I would have to check....but I am pretty sure that if Zeiler gets called up he could be claimed for 1/2 price and the Kings would be on the line for the other half. Would that be worth the risk?

I have no problem with the guy. I actually like what he brings. But most people here have unrealistic expectations I think.

I don't think anyone hates the guy, but he didn't exactly make a big difference in the lineup. I think Kings fans are looking for a guy who can agitate better, get into a scrap now and then, and pot a few goals. That is the ideal for a fourth line player, and Zeiler didn't do any of them well for the Kings.

We have too many players like him. All effort and no skill.

It's a side effect of not being in the playoffs for as long as we have.

Well as long as i'm here how did you guys feel about Bagnall's training camp? I always felt it was his speed that would hold him out of the top level, was I right?

Not sure about HATE...but I felt that he never fit the Kings rosters in the past... If he could have finished his checks on PLAYERS instead of the boards...then I might have thought a little differently...

Hits against the glass don't go on the stat sheet. Jeff Guliano and the total amount of nothing he brought to the roster is far better than the sillyness and kisses Mr. Zeiler would have us endure.

Oh let's not go crazy, I'd take a Zeiler over a Guiliano ANY day.

He may hit the glass a lot, but when he makes contact, it hurts. Go ask Foote.
