PP and PK units

Speculation? How about:

PP1
Gionta - Gomez - Cammalleri
Markov - Weber

PP2
Lats - Pleks - AKost
Spacek - Hammer

PK1
Lappy - Metro
Markov - Gill

PK2
Gionta - Gomez
Hammer - Mara

PK3
Pleks - Moen

Analysis:

- PP1 is deadly and will score a ton of goals with Markov finding the holes and Weber drawing D away from down low.
- PP2 is weak and will struggle to produce all year. It will be a revolving door.
- PK units are fast and skilled and a threat to score shorthanded, but I'm not crazy about any of the defensive combos. The big bodies will be able to get into lanes and block shots, and they should be able to clear bodies from in front of the net, but down low they will get exposed. They aren't that mobile.

Why is that?..
Great shot from the point, big body presence in front from Lats, capable playmakers with all of Lats, Plek and A.Kost, great shot from A.kost.
There's definite potential, I wouldn't call it weak right from the start.

You forgot Mara on the PP, he has a pretty decent shot.
Gorges no where on any special teams... I don't think so.

I think we should consider seriously Matt D'Agostini on the second PP unit, the kid has been great during the exhibition games, he has a great shot, good puck control, decent speed plays the body well.. I would even consider him on the top 6..

Don't even ask. People just make stuff up and put players somewhere. Magic is their response.

Spacek wasn't brought in so Markov couldn't set him up.

Gionta-Gomez-Cammalleri
Markov-Spacek

I all likelyhood this should be the first PP

Latendresse/SKostitsyn/D'Agostini-Plekanec-AKostitsyn
Hamrlik-SKostitsyn/Mara

This I think should be the second wave. I think theres a lot of potential in having the two brothers play PP together, especially since SKost is kind of a PP specialist.

Cammalleri-Gomez-Gionta
Markov-Spacek

A.Kostitsyn-Plekanec-Pacioretty
Markov-Hamrlik

I think double shifting Markov on the powerplay could work out well.

Lapierre-Moen
Hamrlik-Mara

Plekanec-Gionta
Markov-Gill

name me a team whose 2nd PP unit is efficient?!

Put Spacek on the 1st.

Let Markov play the whole 2 minutes, let Gomez play 1:30, after 1:15 give Camm and Gio a break and put whoever is hot that night.

1st PP

Gio - Gom - Cam
Marky-Mark - Spat

2nd
who cares - Gomez stays there for a while - who cares
Markov - who cares.

Anyways, most of the time our PP won't last through to the 2nd PP unit
