Who would be a potential waiver casualty for you? Dumping Jones, we would still be in the market for another defenseman.

Apparently Philly writers think Rangers management are saddists.

No one, really. The Rangers don't have any defense that they need to dump. They might not sign Semenov, but other than that...it's players who don't go through waivers

I'd take a shot at Jones... if it meant Philly would take Redden off our hands.

You know who is reporting the Flyers have a taker for Jones on re-entry waivers.

$1.375 million.

$3 million salary. $1.5 million in real money.

The Rangers have just six healthy defensemen and reportedly are looking for defensive help. Holmgren said he has not heard from GM Glen Sather.

Here’s a possibility: Jones clears waivers. The Flyers then assign Jones to the Phantoms, then place him on re-entry waivers where the Rangers take him. In this case, the Rangers and Flyers would split his salary, each taking a $1.5 million cap hit this season.

Semenov at 500-600 k seems much better than Jones at 1.5.

Considering he's been around for about 5 years now and you're a fan of a rival team that should have seen him play, that bolded statement pretty much sums him up.

No kidding right. Yeesh are the Rangers so desperate that they won't call up Potter who would do just as well (if not better) than Jones? At 1/3 of even the re-entry waiver cap hit.

He's hated by the Flyer fans and it more to do with his salary than anything else. He's decent but he's been injured and if he's injured (hip) he's not very good. He'd be a fine 3rd pairing dman but he's just expensive.

I've NEVER heard of a Randy Jones....We shouldn't pick him up IMO because he's probably not good at all if I've never heard about him.
