Hard sell to keep any of them on an NHL roster long term, but I would not miss 2 at all.

Hard to believe McIver might have been 7 or 8 on our depth chart not too long ago...

I think there's a small chance that Desbiens is picked up.

Desbiens is not waiver eligible. Nothing to worry about. Hopefully somebody picks up Baumgartner because I don't want him on the Moose.

This was the year Baumgartner was going to make it! I fear that at 33, if he doesn't break the NHL now, he never will

This is the 5th season since Desbiens signed his first pro contract (and he had a 3-year waiver clearance window) so he is *definitely* waiver eligible. 100%.

Desbiens might get claimed, but there are a lot of guys on waivers right now, so I think he should be good.

And dammit Gillis, how could you waive our stud prospect Nolan Baumgartner!

Yeah, Desbiens is eligible, but I don't think he's got enough of a profile outside our organization for anybody to be interested in him at this point. Atlanta maybe, but they gave up on him once already.

Forgot that he'd had a contract with Atlanta. My bad.

Hopefully, god willing he does, this is the last time Desbiens has to clear waivers.

A few years ago, Jovo and Baumgartner were the top pairing at the WJC's.

And now, both might be on waivers?

I guess the good news about Desbiens is that he wasn't that noticeable during the preseason.

I too cannot see any of these players getting picked up after this preseason.

There was interest in McIver last season, but I think that interest has dwindled.

Anyone else remember Burke saying Maciver would be the perfect partner for Pronger last year? If he passes through waivers we would be better off, lots of guys need ice time on the moose. No need to worry about dime-a-dozen guys.

No confirmation from the Canucks or the local newspapers on waivers for these players.

Almost 15 years ago is not a few. That's a career ago.
