Is Carcillo in tough to make the Flyers? I was thinking about picking him up in a hockey pool for his penalty minutes.
It's a weird situation. I think he'll be given a spot, most definitely. His job is nowhere near secure as guys like like Lappy or Giroux, but it's likely he'll be given a spot on the team.

He may not even make the team. Today's Courier Post in South Jersey says that he might be cut if he does not straighten up. Stevens has talked to him about his antics, especially after the whistle. The couch is not happy with him.
But they are A-holes that are in control, and we are ones that can just sit back and select the team we like... and complain when that team is cut in camp.
This is not a slap at Carcillo, since he had a nice practice today, and he was upbeat throughout, also his last couple games have actually been an improvement, IMO... but Asham had a terrific practice today... he was flying all morning, and score a few sweet goals and had some great shots. He seems to being stepping up his game in the crunch, or at least his practices.
All that being said, I'd still like Carcillo moved.

I was making fun of the fact that he said couch instead of coach. I wasn't serious.

What a dummy I am... What's the old saying?, You read what you want it to read. I never caught the typo... I just thought you were taking a shot at Stevens; it has been known to happen on here on occasion.
If the preseason is a deciding factor should we have to cute one of the two loose (though I really hope Cote has to walk the plank before either are considered), I think Carzilla is stealing Asham's job right now. He had a very good showing in the last two games. Asham on the other hand did not do much during the preseason so far. I still like him more though.

Just reading this thread gives me a migraine. I feel sorry for Carcillo more often than not because no one gives the guy a chance and will bash him constantly the second he steps on the ice. Never mind that he plays with a lot of heart, has speed and takes as many shots on net as he can. I love Asham and I think Carcy has some real potiental if given the chance. If it were up to me, Cote would be gone. Carcillo would be coached properly, by someone who knows what they are doing and Asham would remain on the team.
And honestly, I'm not shocked by the Upshall reference ( joking or not ). Trades happen, people get moved. Like it, love it, or hate it. The only thing Upshall had over Carcy is less of a temper and a bigger paycheck.
Upshall also got under other people's skins and cause them to take penalties. we had a heck of a better record with Upshall than we did with Carcillo.
gotta go with carcillo. asham is a solid player but carcillo has more upside (if he can cut back on the bad penalties). he has good hands and plays hard. i'm betting he puts up 10-15 goals this year if he makes the team.

You should go back and read some of the older threads. Please do this, because I can guarantee that you will shed no new light on the discussions we have already had at great length.
