So we were really hard on Price early, but in the end, 2 goals on 31 shots with lots of PPs, that's .935 save% and a very good night's work. Turns out he's ready.
Good to see him recover from a bad start, too.

why did gainey get so many vets when ob is ready and
gionta is small and overpaid...
gainey's best acquisition which is allowing this team to look like a team JMFM

Good stuff, only preseason obviously but to beat Buffalo's near A team while still missing Markov and Cammalleri is an encouraging sign.
To do it coming back is cool too, especially since Miller seemed on fire early on.
Price with a very re-assuring 2nd and 3rd periods.
The team seemed to do an excellent job protecting the lead in the 3rd the way the CKAC crew was talking about it.

Team looks solid from the goalies, the D and the 4th, 3rd and 1st lines....2nd line will be a area of concern and I wonder if Gainey will try to address it sooner rather than later?

Big negative: Was a bad game five-on-five. Despite the 2-2 goal differential, the Habs got murdered at 5-on-5 and it showed on the shot clock: 22-9. This was the Habs' weakness last season (and since, well, forever) and it needs to improve if they want to be any good.
But this is an area where they did well in previous games so I'm not TOO worried.

Just hearing Gionta doing interviews.. I mean, he is so at EASE with it.. I dont remeber how Koivu handled the media in the start... but in the nearing end.. he started to seem really nervous and scared almost..

Metropolit who really has nothing to worry about for saying the truth... says that there is alot more chatter in the locker room compared to last year.

I'm soo happy to Price come back and stone the Sabres after a shakey 1st period. The team really fed off that and attacked more freely after he made some big stops.
On a side note, I'm surprised he didn't get a star and Miller did. He made more saves, won and the game was in Montreal?? Who's picking these stars!?

Same. Its like he already has the C.
Wish Price looked like he cared in interviews. He often has some nice quotes, but hes so boring when he says it.

Interesting comment by Metropolit:
"Coach gives everyone a role and that makes it easy."
Part of the answer on a question about how the team seemed to have a better vibe. Interesting.

"what was more surprising for you on stewarts goal, the fact that gomez could get it to him or stewart being able to get a shot off?"
"well the surprising thing was seeing gomez out there on my line actually!"
everyone got a good laugh lol

Gionta seems to fit with everybody. Cammy....I'm not so sure. Which is the reason why I would have Gionta with Plekanec, and Cammy with Gomez.

Miller stopped
multiple breakaways, a 2-on-0, and some 2-on-1s. There were fewer shots but they were very high quality.

Thank god! Hopefully this team can learn to have fun and play hockey all at the same time!
