But he lost and the game is in MONTREAL! Not a big deal, but I think Price should have gotten the star.

I think Camm can develop a fine chemistry with Plekanec, i'm not too worried about that.

Exactly.

I'm excited for Thursday! Toronto is looking good so it should be a great game.

Gionta for Captain...

Play hard train hard, playing in your face hockey... he rocks

Latenderness, another gaylord game... 3rd liner at best

Lats : nothing impressive, but, again looks better next to lapierre then he does next to gomez

Akos : quiet, but lil flashes of brilliance (as usual), i still think he should start the year next to pleks instead of gomez

Pacioretty : decent game, he looks NHL ready but definately has a bit of trouble with scoring chances, has to bury those, the spot is clearly between sergei and he at this point, dagostini is a enigma and lats just is not top 6 right now, id of said "yet" but who knows!

Obyrne : i had an argument on this board how the 6th spot is gorges 100%, but its clearly 50/50 right now, obyrne rly nailed that guy a couple of times at the end of that fight and his play has been pretty good overall, didnt let up tonight

Plekanec : multiple breakaways, good scoring chances for himself or created by him, nice pass to gionta in the slot for the one timer and goal, id say its safe to say were going to see more of 07-08 pleks then 08-09 pleks, its all about the linemates

4 hits, tied with Grier for a game high.

His offensive game isn't quite there yet, but he's being physical.

Hard to say over the radio, but sounded like Pleks had his best pre-season game yet, including several odd-man rushes and breakaways.

I didn't see the Kaleta hit obviously but I really hope O'Byrne beat his head in because he deserves it like nobody else in the league.

akost some very good scoring opps...apparently should've scored one and should've gotten an assist on teh one where HE got tripped into miller

patches was alright but not too sure, should've shot more apparently?

pleks was great, playing in traffic, in front of the net and in corners, making passes and doing things with his speed and a couple of great chances

mara got into a scrum or two but didn't really notice him much but i didn't really watch the whole game either so my evaluations are based off what i saw (liumited) and what i heard

Good luck this season guys. Your new top line (if they stay together) seems to be working pretty well already. I'm most surprised by Gionta, IMO.

you could laugh, but by seeing only a little bit of him, he looks like he uses his size better than Price and is more calm in net.

I may add that he has less pressure on him than Price. I think Halak should be the starter for the beginning of the season.

Pleks always plays good against Buffalo for some reason. Is it because they are also a smaller team, fast with good flow and no trapping? He really shines when there's even a little less resistance.

I think so too. Cammy needs to be with Gomez to be successful this year. Gionta can play with anyone and look good.

He may turn out better who knows but if you honestly think the less pressure aspect will last long, you are sadly mistaken. I wouldn't be surprised if Toskala is gone within a year and Gustavsson will be in front and center.

Things change quickly. Look at Price prior to injury and he was lights out and now look at peoples perception.

Just because Gustavsson is a Leaf doesnt mean he has extremely great potential. We may be outdueled in net on Thursday if he plays. Anyways, if our goalies dont play well; mainly talking about Price, we will lose a lot this season. Thursday will be very interesting. Not sure who will win.
