No reason how/why they forgot but you may have hit a gold mine inadvertently . If you call in and complain they will at least send you what they rightfully should have and probably something else in addition for your troubles. I would just act fast on calling them though.

Just called them & they said they were going to check into it and to make sure they have it in stock with the white name plate. It shall take 2-3 business days.

are they sending you the correct jersey in addition to this one? or did you have to send this back? That would make a sweet **** around jersey...

sorry, but i think it looks horrible, white nameplate or not

NEVER get the nameplates/numbers from the Flyers/nhl website

buy the jersey from the site, sure, but if you want the numbers/nameplate bring it somewhere to get the proper stitched ones put on

I find it really odd that anyone could make that mistake... AND it would get by all people who handle it. There are no Flyers orange jerseys with black on an orange plate, so it is not like it could slip by... no orange for any team, IIRC.

Also, there should not be any orange name plates being cut... as they would all be white for the Flyers, or black for the black Reeboks, in that case the lettering would be white.

It's not like it is a typo or anything that could slip by... this is a major screw-up all around.

Wow, That looks like ass. What the hell were they thinking? I'd wipe my rear end with it, and send that crap back, and demand the right jersey. Thats inexcusable... Especially for NHL.com.

Without the white plate, they'd have to have white lettering... as was the case in the late Seventies, when they had permanent names on the road jerseys, and not merely that stopgap National TV network demand adherence that was the basis of this retro jersey... Black lettering without any bordering on an orange jersey both looks bad, and is hard to read from a distance.

They are emailing me the address to send it back. I will then send it back and within 7-10 days I will get my money back. Since I'm going to the Home Opener, i'll just get a jersey there.

I sure hope they are covering the return postage and handling... and returning the original P&H. I hope they are embarrassed.

I hate to buy anything worth more than a few bucks off the net, or mail-order... And never at all if I can buy it somewhere for about the same price, when I can actually put my hands on the item and inspect it. Even in the case where I see the product that was bought by someone, I'm never sure if the product will be the same when I buy it... For example; the NHL.com can send a double stitched lettering to someone, but that single ply lettering to another. The difference between them and the Wachovia store is the same -- and no shipping -- so I see no advantage to NHL.com... but some of the Wachovia work is crummy, so I want to see it first... also make sure that it is the double ply lettering, some are the smaller plastic crap -- and no buckles etc.

If I can get a good deal on eBay or somewhere, I may gamble and take my chances... It seems that I have better luck with them than with the companies that want to make a fortune on one sale, with that mark up and using the cheaper materials.

... And there is always the possible ***** like that nameplate not being white.

EDIT: I guess with the filters here I can't even type an 's' and then an 'h' and then a '*' and a 't'... it puts four asterisks. LOL

i have bought jerseys from river city sports.

www.rivercitysports.com

they have good deals sometimes and do nice work. a lot of the vintage or minors/juniors jerseys go on sale a lot too which is cool.

I guess I shouldn't buy jerseys online anymore.

Edit: Do you know if they would have Giroux jerseys at the Fan Store in the Wach?

I saw them in the Fan Gear store during the Jersey PS game... If they don't have them at that retail shop or at the stands, they can make one up the exact way you want it at the Atrium place that personalizes them. -- just tell them you want a white name plate.

I literally JUST bought an orange Giroux jersey at the fan store (right next to where they sell the ones to customize in the atrium) after the Jersey game on thursday. They didn't have any hanging on the wall, so you have to go up and ask for them and see if they have any in stock.

Btw, it was $200 for it, in case you didn't know.

Thats the one! But I bet any of the shops are likely to have one.
