Neither team makes this deal. Calgary might entertain thoughts of doing it, though. The Flames get the better deal, but they can't trade Iginla from an organizational standpoint. He means too much to the team, fans, and community.
Dean Lombardi won't even consider this. LA is built for the future, and they're built around young players who are going to get even better like Brown and Frolov. Iginla will be a top player for a few more years, but he is getting older and is not going to get any better.

That is an amazingly accurate statement from a Kings standpoint and likely a Flames as well. Kudos to you.

I wouldn't even entertain a thought, if Iginla was the only player on the Flames' side of the deal and I don't think any Flames' fan would consider this trade.

I'm not sure if the OP is a Kings fan (though it seems like it), but I speak for (hopefully) all Kings fans when I say... sorry. Just go ahead and read Blades of Glory's post and then close the thread.
this is like trading Marek Svatos and a 2nd for Victor Hedman. sorry man but this will never be possible, Calgary will never trade Iggy way, maybe Conroy and a 3rd and a prospect but not their captain
Flames need Iginla for another potential crack at a cup run. If they fail in the 1st, you could see a semi-rebuild of the core like an offer such as this one.
if they traded iginla they will be in the same boat as teams like Colorado and Florida, conference dwellers and finish 12th-15th. no Iggy= no chance at the cup until 2013ish, they then would need prospects to step it up
No thanks. We already went the Conroy route. Needless to say, it didn't work out.
We'll stick with the youth.
Also, Iginla is 32. I just don't know of many super-stars that've continued to flourish into their mid-late 30's, minus a couple. He's awesome, but LA wouldn't take a chance on a guy that would cost us so much to aquire at his age.
