Would you sign Forsberg?

He's played 3 games with Modo and sounds like hes trying an NHL comeback.

Can play LW and C, it would conceivably solve our current 2nd line left wing situation.

Even if you only expect 40 games, it's a move you try for the playoffs, if his foot checks out would you do it, or stay with who we have?

I would much rather sign Fleury. Him on a line with Marchant and R2.

Im sure for the right price every team in the nhl will sign him.. the guy is such an amazing player, especially for us because we lack LW depth

If you get the chance and you can afford it, Forsberg is always worth the risk of injuries. This time it seems like the problems have improved as well so if he wanted to come to Anaheim, we could get a healthy monster of a player and get a second line that's better than most teams first.

Doesn't he have to pass waivers now that he's played in Europe this season?

No, he's doesn't have a contract with any european team, just a tryout, so there should be no issues with waivers or transfer agreements.

Then i'd sign him for sure. Even a 75% Forsberg is a better player than most of ours. We could play him sparingly in the regular season and against weaker competition due to the depth we have.

he also has 3 points in those games, I think he should give it up but if not he's not worse than other options we have.

The problem with Forsberg is he's primarily a playmaker. We have 2 very good ones for the top 2 lines, Koivu and Getzlaf.

Although one thing we could do is make a 3rd offensive line with him on it. Less ice time, more sheltering so he won't get hurt. Lupul can stay at his natural position and score goals. Doubt he'd want to play at a 3rd line price and role though. We also don't have much money for him either. Isn't the budget supposed to be like 50 million? And aren't we already above that?

Forsberg can score also, I'd love to see a line of Forsberg-Koivu-Selanne, that would be great.
RPG for the first line
Lupul-Ebbett-Carter
Nokkie-Marchant-R2Ken

We could get rid of a few guys to cut salary most likely, I know the trade board says the Caps are an option but the ducks have tried to trade for him a few times. Forsberg will probably wait a while, so in that time we can figure out if the other guys we try work or not

I would take forsberg any day of the week. Would be nice to have a line with 35+ years old players with ppg production Seriosly Forsberg-Koivu-Selanne would be awesome.

edit. Koivu turns 35 in november...

I don't think either of them would mind having another playmaker on the wing and Forsberg is most likely good for 20 goals as well. Also, he's one of the best passers this league has seen so if anything we should hope that Getz is willing to blast the puck when he receives it.
Highly doubtful that we can get him though, but who knows? We got a really good roster and the cap space to give him a descent contract. He won't sign with Nashville, and even though he's got a really big Colorado heart he wants to compete so that might take them out of the running. Philly would be most likely, but do they have the cap space for him? Don't have any numbers in hand, but out of the contenders, we should be able to offer one of the best contracts cap-wise, though only one year.

Not what he is worth, considering his foot problems. Even if you factor in that a set-back would likely be longer term, so his salary wouldn't negatively impact the team's cap... I still think you have to consider the owners would be paying for a player who isn't likely to play a full season.

Still.. for whatever game he does play hes gonna make a HUGE impact.. and it also seems like his foot has seriously gotten a lot better he obvs wont play 70+ games i dont think but if we had him for even 40 that woudl eb great.. especially if its was 15 reg season and 25 post season!!
