Why should it. Let them cling on to what ever they can. God knows they need it.

I don't know but reading this makes me think that the sad double standard applies to not only Habs fans but Leafs fans as well. So what's your point? Or are you solely trying to imply that this double standard is only used by us?

As far as I'm concerned. I have no problem with being excited by a player or a team. You guys can be excited all you want, you weren't that lucky for the past years and so were we. Thing is, we were excited 2 years ago and at the start of last year and we were told to shut the **** up by most non-Habs fans. So TO NOT see a double-standard, I suggest you get used of being laughed at and told the shut the **** up.....we know....been there, done that...

I know that it's "just" the Avs....but I'm glad to see Ryan O'Reilly making it. I had a great feeling about the kid despite his supposed bad skating, which in the end is not as bad as people would have love it to be. He'll be a great hockey player. Doesn't mean they won't send him before his 10-games. But at least he starts the season. Which makes the AVS with 2 of their 2009 picks making it with him and Duchene.

Robbie Schremp was waived. Wouldn't be a bad pickup if we had room.

It would be a bad pickup actually... He's too much of a "project" imo, and even that's pushing it. Sure he has some fancy moves, but I don't think he has what it takes to have a successful career in the NHL.

Trade Sergei for Schremp, both need a change of scenerey, and an attitude adjustment, it might just work?

I'm already sick of "The Monster" moniker. On TSN they went nuts over him during the SC 2 nights ago. It's pretty hard to hide their humongous bias towards the leafs..

No way.. unless they ship us a good 2nd piece in return. Schremp seems to be damaged goods at this point.. Sergei proved he can play in the NHL already, he just needs a wakeup call.

Sergei is a far better player and way more valuable at this point.

Hell Schremp is on waivers, why would we even need to trade for him?

Robbie Schremp on Waivers

http://oilers.nhl.com/

The Oilers placed Schremp on waivers. He's a centre, 5'11 and 200 lbs. He had 3 assists in 4 games last yr. He's also an amazing shootout scorer.

Seeing as how Montreal is lacking on the centre position he could be an interesting option IMO.

Having lived in Edmonton, I can tell you that he is not better than the guys who are on our bubble (ie: Sergei or Maxwell). I don't think he's a good fit for our club.

Maxwell is better. Rather have Chips on the bottom lines. Like I've said, wouldn't mind him if we had the room.

I'd like to see him play with Cammalleri. Easy seafood jokes.

Other than that, no.
