Tollefson because he's the obvious complement to Carle, who I think should be on the third pairing. Don't get me wrong I'm not scared of Carle in the top 4 - he's not the "new jones" or anything. But that's my ideal situation on the blueline for the majority of the season.

The 'obvious compliment' to Carle is Pronger, and it's not really close.

no they are not. syvret is not an everyday dman. trainwreck in his own end. let okt play t start the season and see how he does. if nto go signa devries or other vet of that ilk for 700k. i dont think syvret last at all

well cup contending teams dont play guys because they are their only option. he will get a chance but he will not make it. liek i said getting a vet for the #6 role will nto be hard to find. What happened to all the Marshall lovers all of a sudden? many had the kid penciled in yet he didn even see 1 preseason game. i like marshall by the way. just was funny the expectation people put on him. bartulis will see time as well i beiev at some point

I still want syvret to get some chances, but you're right. They're not better than jones. They're cheaper. Huge difference that I thought had been covered ad nauseam on here.

I'd really hate to see that pairing stick. Massive waste of what Pronger can bring to the team over the course of 82 games.

Well that's your opinion. He played 150 NHL-games over 3 seasons with Columbus, that's quite a lot for a 7th

He was 6th there, and now he's 6th here...according to Homer. But I'll buy that rotation talk, no need to put Tolly in the lineup against a sissy team.

I have to go with other. Syvret or OKT are fine for the majority of the regular season, but come playoffs I'd rather have a proven more experienced shutdown D. If one of Timonen or Pronger, or even Coburn were to get injured, I think will be thin on D.

So he missed nearly 100 games?

Yeah, 63 games last season. You know...injury. His skate got stuck in the net during practice, and the knee got twisted. Bad luck..

I think they'll both get playing time, with Syvret getting the bulk of the time.

Actually, he said Syvret is the 6th, and OKT is the 7th

Changed his mind again, apparently. But as I mentioned earlier, OKT is fine with the 7th, he has to be careful with that knee. I think a gentle start is a smart decision.

And then we got an opportunity to see what Syvret is made of, I haven't watched him play much yet.

I like Danny Syvret...I watched a few Flyers preseason games and saw him during practices. He looked good.
