When I did call, the ticketmaster rep told me they only had two accessibles left in all off the 300 section and they were in the section we like to sit in haha.
Ya totally understand. Everything about ticketmaster pisses me off.

How did Scuderi look? =/ Got a little nervous after reading the 'worst signing of the summer' thread in trades and rumors - Kings are getting a good beating in there.

He looked really good. No puck moving ability whatsoever (he's even worse than Greene in that department) but he has a superb poke-check, and he can win those defensive battles. Simply put, he's the perfect partner for Jack Johnson, who can roam around and do his offensive/physical thing.

No one here is questioning Brown's work ethic. What's in question is his ability to CONSISTENTLY produce in the top 6 role. People here are happy with his 25 goals and big hits and personally I think we should expect more out of the team's captain who disappeared for several stretches of last season. I would be the first person to admit I was wrong about Brown if he turns it up this season, and believe me, I want to be wrong.

oh yeah the fees are ridiculous and I think they raised them but in this economy its no surprise. They gave me options of getting the tickets and they wanted to charge me another 2.50 to print the tickets at home, I picked will call lol.

Yeah I purchased 6 tickets and had to pay an extra $60. Ya if you purchase the tickets less then a week before the game its either will call (best way to go) or paying to print the tickets, which is pointless.

This is pretty ridiculous.

Everyone bagging on Dustin Brown on a game they couldn't even watch.

Retarded.

25 points in 5 games. You should definitely draft him first round for your fantasy team.

He also impregnates virgins with his stare and then consumes their unborn babies.

He is the abortionist.

Hell, I'd draft him first overall.

[QUOTE=Mr Irreverent;21302607]Dustin Brown continues to suck. He's the next Kyle Calder/Mark Parrish/Brad Isbister, a power forward with all the physical tools who has no idea how to play hockey.

SMYTH for Captain!!!!!!!!![/QUOTE

This means Brown gets 2 goals openning night and all the "Brown nosing" starts.
I can read it now - Look the reason for Brown's fallout in the 2nd half was due to his new born's health problems and now that is settled he going to get 40!

Ya think that might have had anything to do at all with the fact of his childs birth and health situation?

Kingpest19,

Agree it had 99% to do with his child's birth. One of my best Friends had a child born premature with serious health issues and I saw this big guy 6'-4" 250 lbs strong as an ox, never in my life seen him cry, and he was balling like a little baby when we spoke. He was an emotional wreck. You really have to be a parent to understand how emotional it is to have a sick child. I am sure the Kings offered Brown time off but Brown being the captain he is still played. Maybe he should have taken more time off but it shows me how much he cares about being the Kings captain. I will never question Browns 2nd half knowing what he had to deal with.

How people can keep disregarding this is beyond me.

Last season is in the past. We all forgive him for that. Bygones.

Let's deal with this season, and so far from the games I have seen, Brown has not been very good.

Just FYI.

My wife ran into Nicole Brown at the poker tournament and they chatted for about 10 minutes. Just two moms talking. Nicole said they had a "scary" few months, but everything is fine now.

That was good to hear.

Ha! Apparently, I have the board all to myself.

I'm a Dustin Brown believer. Yes, last year was an off year and I think most of us can agree to that and hopefully let it go. However, even if he were to struggle again this year, I will still support this guy because I know he's a great player.

Highlights of the game are up on the Ducks site. A lot of blown coverages and bad positioning by the goaltenders. At least that is what I got from the vid. A positive would be that the Kopitar/Smyth connection seems to be working well.

I never question Dustin's heart. He has earned the C he received. That doesn't mean I think he had a good pre-season. Objectively, he didn't. Will he have a great season? Regardless of your opinion about him, I know we can all agree that we wish for nothing less.

The defense looked brutal there. Ersberg let in some questionable goals, and I don't think Bernier really had a chance on a couple of those.

Didn't really know where to put this, and it doesn't really warrant its own thread, but for those who are interested, here are the top scoring stats for the Kings preseason.

Go to www.lakingsnews.com for the full list, as well as the goalie stats and some notes on the stats. Also have some funny stats from the preseason, like Matt Moulson tying for the league lead in powerplay goals.

Quote:
Scoring
No. Player Pos GP G A PTS +/- S S%
11 Anze Kopitar C 5 5 3 8 5 22 22.7
3 Jack Johnson D 6 2 5 7 1 14 14.3
17 Wayne Simmonds RW 6 5 1 6 1 14 35.7
94 Ryan Smyth LW 4 3 3 6 5 11 27.3
54 Teddy Purcell RW 6 2 3 5 -5 12 16.7
23 Dustin Brown RW 5 1 3 4 -4 12 8.3
24 Alexander Frolov LW 5 1 3 4 -1 7 14.3
14 Justin Williams RW 4 1 3 4 2 15 6.7
